Kedarnath and Badrinath: Two of the holiest sites in Hinduism, are nestled in the majestic Himalayas. Visiting these sacred places is an awe-inspiring experience. Shri Kedarnath Temple, dedicated to Lord Shiva, is the eleventh out of twelve Jyotirlingas of India, whie Shri Badarinath Temple is dedicated to Lord Vishnu. Both temples are situated in Garhwal Division of Uttarakhand at high altitudes in Himalayas and are believed to be established by Aadi Guru Shankaracharya. HOW TO REACH

Reaching Kedarnath and Badrinath, two of the most revered pilgrimage sites in India, involves a combination of road travel and trekking. Here’s a detailed guide on how to reach both places:

1. Reaching Kedarnath:

By Air:

  • Nearest Airport: Jolly Grant Airport, Dehradun (around 238 km from Kedarnath).
  • From the airport, you can hire a taxi or take a bus to reach Sonprayag or Gaurikund.

By Train:

  • Nearest Railway Station: Rishikesh (around 216 km from Kedarnath).
  • From Rishikesh, you can take a bus or hire a taxi to reach Sonprayag or Gaurikund.

By Road:

  • Kedarnath is connected by road up to Gaurikund. From Gaurikund, you need to trek 16 km to reach Kedarnath.
  • Buses and taxis are available from Haridwar, Rishikesh, and Dehradun to Sonprayag and Gaurikund.

Trekking:

  • The trek from Gaurikund to Kedarnath is 16 km. You can trek on foot or hire a pony/palanquin. Helicopter services are also available from Phata, Sersi, or Guptkashi to Kedarnath for a quicker option.

2. Reaching Badrinath:

By Air:

  • Nearest Airport: Jolly Grant Airport, Dehradun (around 311 km from Badrinath).
  • From the airport, you can hire a taxi or take a bus to Badrinath.

By Train:

  • Nearest Railway Station: Rishikesh (around 294 km from Badrinath).
  • Buses and taxis are available from Rishikesh to Badrinath.

By Road:

  • Badrinath is well-connected by road and can be reached by bus or taxi from major cities like Haridwar, Rishikesh, and Dehradun.
  • The journey is scenic, passing through Devprayag, Rudraprayag, Karnaprayag, and Joshimath.

Note:

  • Both Kedarnath and Badrinath are located in the Garhwal region of Uttarakhand. The roads are mountainous, and the journey may take longer than usual due to the terrain.
  • The best time to visit these places is from May to October, as the roads are usually closed during the winter due to heavy snowfall.

● 👉 If cancellation is made between 29 days to 16 days before the date of travel, 50% of the total Booking Cost will be charged as cancellation fees.
● 👉 If cancellation is made between 7 days to 15 days before the date of travel, 80% of the total Booking Cost will be charged as cancellation fees.
● 👉 If cancellation is made within 7 days before the date of travel, the total booking cost will be charged as cancellation fees.
● 👉 If payment is not made as per the schedule provided in the first booking confirmation Email, Sky Hike reserves the right to cancel the booking after attempting to get in touch with you. Refunds would be as per the package Cancellation policy.
● 👉 Transfer your Trek/Trip (any Trek/Trip, within 2 months of your Date of Travel) to your friend before 15 days of your Date of Travel.
● 👉 70% cash voucher in the form of 'HikeCoin' for any other Trip/Trek for one year, If we are informed before 20 days of the date of travel. (1 Rupees = 10 HikeCoin)
● 👉 80% cash voucher in the form of 'HikeCoin' for the same Trip/Trek for one year. If we are informed before 20 days of the date of travel. (1 Rupees = 10 HikeCoin)
● 👉 The applicable refund amount will be processed within 10 business days.

● 👉 While entering passenger names during the booking process, Do ensure that they exactly match the names on the travel documents (e.g. Aadhar Crad/PAN card/ Passport/Voter ID card/Any Identity Card) that you will be carrying for the Trip/Trek.
● 👉 The passenger names in the booking form should be exactly as per Adhar Card. Sky Hike will not bear any liability for the name change fee if incorrect names and ages have been added at the time of booking.
● 👉 In case your package needs to be canceled due to any natural calamity, weather conditions, etc. SkyHike reserves the right to deny a refund request in the event of a disaster, depending on the nature of the disaster and its impact on the organization.
● 👉 Sky Hike reserves the right to modify the itinerary at any point, due to reasons including but not limited to Force Majeure events, strikes, fairs, festivals, weather conditions, traffic problems, cancellation rescheduling, closure of /entry restrictions at a place of visit, etc. While we will do our best to make suitable alternate arrangements, we will not be held liable for any refunds/compensation claims arising out of this
