HOW TO REACH

Reaching Kedarnath involves a combination of road and trekking. Here’s how you can get there:

1. By Air:

  • Nearest Airport: Jolly Grant Airport, Dehradun (approximately 238 km from Kedarnath).
  • From the Airport: You can hire a taxi or take a bus to reach the town of Gaurikund, which is the base for the trek to Kedarnath.

2. By Train:

  • Nearest Railway Station: Rishikesh Railway Station (approximately 216 km from Kedarnath) or Haridwar Railway Station (approximately 242 km from Kedarnath).
  • From the Railway Station: From Rishikesh or Haridwar, you can take a bus or taxi to Gaurikund.

3. By Road:

  • To Gaurikund:
    • Gaurikund is well-connected by road with major cities like Haridwar, Rishikesh, and Dehradun. Buses and taxis are available from these cities to Gaurikund.
    • The distance from Haridwar to Gaurikund is around 225 km, and from Rishikesh, it’s around 210 km.
  • Private Vehicle: You can drive to Gaurikund, but note that the roads can be narrow and winding, especially in the mountains.

4. Trek to Kedarnath:

  • Starting Point: The trek to Kedarnath starts from Gaurikund.
  • Trek Distance: Approximately 16 km one way.
  • Trek Route: The route is well-marked and passes through Rambara, Jungle Chatti, Bheembali, and Linchauli before reaching Kedarnath.
  • Alternatives to Trekking:
    • Helicopter Services: Available from places like Phata, Sersi, and Guptkashi to Kedarnath.
    • Pony/Palki: You can hire ponies or palkis (palanquins) if you don’t want to walk.

5. Helicopter Service:

  • Booking: Helicopter services can be booked online or at the helipads in Phata, Sersi, or Guptkashi.
  • Duration: The helicopter ride takes about 10 minutes to reach Kedarnath.
  • Helipads: Phata, Sersi, Guptkashi are popular helipads near Kedarnath.

Make sure to check the weather conditions and the best time to visit before planning your trip. The peak pilgrimage season is from May to October.


👉 If cancellation is made 30 days or more before the Date of Travel, 25% of the total Booking Cost will be charged as cancellation fees.
● 👉 If cancellation is made between 29 days to 16 days before the date of travel, 50% of the total Booking Cost will be charged as cancellation fees.
● 👉 If cancellation is made between 7 days to 15 days before the date of travel, 80% of the total Booking Cost will be charged as cancellation fees.
● 👉 If cancellation is made within 7 days before the date of travel, the total booking cost will be charged as cancellation fees.
● 👉 If payment is not made as per the schedule provided in the first booking confirmation Email, Sky Hike reserves the right to cancel the booking after attempting to get in touch with you. Refunds would be as per the package Cancellation policy.
● 👉 Transfer your Trek/Trip (any Trek/Trip, within 2 months of your Date of Travel) to your friend before 15 days of your Date of Travel.
● 👉 70% cash voucher in the form of 'HikeCoin' for any other Trip/Trek for one year, If we are informed before 20 days of the date of travel. (1 Rupees = 10 HikeCoin)
● 👉 80% cash voucher in the form of 'HikeCoin' for the same Trip/Trek for one year. If we are informed before 20 days of the date of travel. (1 Rupees = 10 HikeCoin)
● 👉 The applicable refund amount will be processed within 10 business days

👉 While entering passenger names during the booking process, Do ensure that they exactly match the names on the travel documents (e.g. Aadhar Crad/PAN card/ Passport/Voter ID card/Any Identity Card) that you will be carrying for the Trip/Trek.
● 👉 The passenger names in the booking form should be exactly as per Adhar Card. Sky Hike will not bear any liability for the name change fee if incorrect names and ages have been added at the time of booking.
● 👉 In case your package needs to be canceled due to any natural calamity, weather conditions, etc. SkyHike reserves the right to deny a refund request in the event of a disaster, depending on the nature of the disaster and its impact on the organization.
● 👉 Sky Hike reserves the right to modify the itinerary at any point, due to reasons including but not limited to Force Majeure events, strikes, fairs, festivals, weather conditions, traffic problems, cancellation rescheduling, closure of /entry restrictions at a place of visit, etc. While we will do our best to make suitable alternate arrangements, we will not be held liable for any refunds/compensation claims arising out of this.
