All About It
  • 7 Days  6 Nights

Rajasthan is a cultural trip, and your calling to this land of kings and kingdoms is here. Believe it or not, the state is unreal for its beauty, uniqueness and authenticity. Once you are here, it will give you the enigma of timelessness, as if someone deliberately preserved the aura by spreading unseen colors in the air. You see those colors blasting, and till the time you realise it – another color blast and you are lost all over again. Such is the brilliance of the state. It is also filled with sublime lakes, breathtaking castles, royal forts, and palaces where many answers lay hidden. To feel all this and realise a few other things, you have to come here and perceive it yourself.

Moreover, it is a golden beauty. Dreams float here on the pedestals, and wildlife dance on the fuzzy tones of life. Covered chiefly by the Aravali Range, this Rajasthan tour will take you on a 7-days internal journey. We will be spotting the ghost cats, strolling in Udaipur, Jaisalmer, Jodhpur, Mewar, Marwar, etc., appreciating the architecture and Rajputana culture, going to the tribal areas, tasting Rajasthani cuisine, meeting locals, experimenting with different clothing, and becoming one among many Rajasthanis.

We invite you to come with us on this odyssey of driving, hiking, camping, staying, exploring, living, and loving. Read the complete itinerary of the Rajasthan Tour for a comprehensive plan and book your tickets at the earliest.

Why would a traveler go to Udaipur? The answer is obvious: it is one of the hearts of Rajasthan. The city bustles with elegant architecture, Rajputana style, historic elegance, royal palaces and what not!

This will be your first day in Rajasthan, and Udaipur is going to set your mood. After introducing to fellow travelers, freshening and jazzing it all up, we will go on a guided tour to City Palace. This is a palace made just by the side of Lake Pichola. The lake is an artificial lake and is the one that cools the surroundings and attracts and charms you.

Later, we will go to the Car Museum and Crystal Museum. A laid-back walk on the ghats is very much awaited by any visitor in the city of lakes. Then, park yourselves at cafes and relish new friendships while munching food.

After a ravishing spend of time at Udaipur, it is time to come out of Udaipur and explore the wilderness and tribal regions.

After breakfast, we will get on a jeep that will take us to SajjanGarh Sanctuary in the morning. Here, we will first go to the Monsoon Palace that will be followed by a hike to see the other side of Udaipur.

In the afternoon, we will be traversing and finding the hidden lakes and going to the tribal region in the Aravallis. Tribals are said to be the masterminds of these jungles. We will wait for the sunset at Alsigarh lake and spend the rest of the evening at leisure before returning to the homestay.

Just as our country’s many famous spots are compared with others from the west, can you believe we have something from the east too? Yes, we have a Kumbhalgarh fort that extends like the Great Wall of China. For the same reason, it is called the ‘Great Wall of India’. It is a world heritage site.

Sitting atop a hilltop, the fort sees multiple dunes of the Thar desert, the rocky landscape of Jawai and Marwar, and the Aravalli mountain range. There are more than 300 temples inside the fort. It is almost impregnable; evidently, many rulers failed at conquering it.

The fort speaks of many stories you will only hear if you come here. Later, we will have lunch and head to the Leopard Reserve of Jawai. Here, we will settle for a great evening ahead in cosy tents.

The night awaits with a lighted bonfire. We will retire for the day over many engaging gossips and cheering up.

This day will start with a thrill as we head to Jawai. Although a small village named after the Jawai river, it has myriad options for travelers.

Jawai Bandh Dam is one such which was constructed in the 1940s that showcases the quintessential beauty of the river along with the reflections of surrounding mountains. The town also hosts ghost cats/leopards. Maintaining harmony for years, these cats are well-acquainted with humans. They don’t attack us, and we don’t disturb them.

Many other species also live here in galore. After a fun-time spotting these lovely creatures, we will head back to Jawai for breakfast and leave for Jodhpur that is 150 km from Jawai. En-route, we will stop for lunch.

Upon reaching Jodhpur, we will take a stroll across the blue city. We will also visit the Clock tower and Toorji Ka Jhalra.

To a normal eye, Jodhpur looks watery blue, but to a spectacular one, it is gold. To experience this, you will be coming with us to the Mehrangarh fort and Jaswant Thada.

Standing boastfully on the perpendicular cliff of Jodhpur, Mehrangarh fort is one of India’s best-preserved and formidable forts. We will also visit Jaswant Thada, which on the other hand, is an intricate and delicate cenotaph made in the memory of Maharaja Jaswant Singh II. It also serves as a cremation ground for the royal Rajput family of Marwar.

We will then go to Umaid Bhawan Palace, built in the 1940s, to employ the kingdom’s public to survive through the droughts and rains.

After a quick luscious lunch, we will head to Chhatrel, Jaisalmer. In the evening, we will spend the night under the shadow of millions of stars and gear up for the next day.

Mornings are heavenly in Rajasthan. To dip in the sun as you come out of your room, you will be adjoined by sparkling wilderness, greenery and fresh air.

After breakfast, we will head to Jaisalmer Fort that straddles and protects Rajasthan from one side. There is a lot to do and see in Jaisalmer, including Patwon ki Haveli, Jain temple, etc. We will go on a guided tour here. Just before lunch, we will also take a heritage walk into Satyajit Ray sir’s Shonar Kella. Then, while soaking and enjoying the dunes, sandhills and lifestyle of these people, we will gather for lunch. After lunch, we will drive through the Sam dunes and check into our swizz tents.

Furthermore, your trip is incomplete without a desert safari and camel safari. Therefore, after freshening up, we will go for these pleasurable safaris. Later, we will spend some time at the dunes witnessing the most beautiful sunset of the whole trip.

The day is not over yet. In the evening, try Kalbelia folk dance. All of this fun and frolic would be followed by dinner, after which you are free to sleep, talk, or spend time at your pace.

This is the last day, probably the day when you will feel the trip the most. After breakfast, we will drive to some abandoned villages of the deserts and learn about the harsh climate and context which led people to live here and survive.

We will then cover Kuldhara & Khabha Fort. After which, it is time to bid goodbyes to each other. As we leave you in Jaisalmer/Jodhpur Airport with a heavy heart, it is the most challenging thing we will be doing.

Similarly, for you, we know how difficult it is to let go of funny times, sleepless nights and new friendships. But guess, once someone chooses us, it is their home forever. Most of us cross paths multiple times. Don’t forget to remember the thrill you have had. And once you know you want to do it all over again, we are here. Check out our other itineraries and ring us soon. It would be a pleasure to see you. Till then, take care and love life.

What’s life without adventure? Isn’t the real purpose of life to travel, to experience new places, and witness the sunrise from new mountaintops?

This thought is what united Jatin and Tarun over a cup of chai, in spite of being from two unrelated backgrounds (CA and IT). They knew each other since the time Jatin was helping Tarun learn the ways of the wilderness through weekend treks and outings with another traveling group. Their love for traveling and trekking together motivated them to start something of their own. Thus was born “Plan The Unplanned”, where travel goals come true. Under the Companies Act, Plan The Unplanned is incorporated as Unplanned Journeys Private Limited

They started their journey on unsteady ground, much like any other company, but they shared an infatuation for travel and adventure with their customers, which amplified their determination, and thus, Plan the Unplanned family keeps getting bigger every day!

Just about any travel idea can come alive with Plan The Unplanned…treks, adventure activities like rock climbing, kayaking, rafting, backpacking trips across the country, cultural outings, photo walks; everything that fellow travelers need, to explore the great outdoors together.
