Leh Ladakh is a God-given place where deserts, rivers, mountains and snow, all converge together in one landscape masterpiece. A variety of well-trodden to off-beat places are paths that one can choose to explore. This article is about some of the most scenic and sort after locations when you travel to Ladakh.

Leh Palace:

In your tour of Leh Ladakh , take to your heart this medieval Tibetan architecture, built by Ladakh’s Lion King (Senge Namgyal). The monumental mural paintings adorning the mansion add charisma to the palace. Capture a picturesque view of serene and calm Leh City from the palace rooftop and feel the inner peace.

Japan & India join forces:

The theme of Shanti Stupa is to promote world peace and prosperity and to commemorate 2500 years of Buddhism. It is considered a symbol of the ties between the people of Japan and India. The project was built with the help of Ladakhi Buddhists, who offered voluntary labour and were financially supported by Japanese Buddhists as well as Indian supporters. Discover the story that lies in the Stupa about the monks winning over evil while the Sunrise and Sunset wait to greet you in all their splendour.

The Guru’s Sanctuary:

Amidst the many monasteries in Ladakh, there lies Guru Nanak Dev (at Gurudwara Pathar Sahib). Here too an ancient story of a fight between the guru and the devil can be learned from the locals, and tourists do throng their way here for blessings.

A mirage:

Magnetic hill an illusionistic hill created by the topography of the location making rolling objects that are supposed to be moving downhill seemed like they are defying gravity and going uphill.

Less social coverage for these unsung heroes:

Two things that war museums in Ladakh bring to mind:

1. Honouring the fallen soldiers who sacrificed during the Indo-Pak wars.

2. Respecting those who till date choose to serve in these volatile war-zone areas to ensure safety for the country. You may not see them but, look up to the higher impassable routes and know that somewhere out there, these heroes are there serving their “Hamara Desh”

A sight to behold!

Sangam: God’s greatness and creativity can be seen in this natural beauty of blue skies kissed with white fluffy clouds, intricate shades of brown mountains, and two royal-coloured rivers meeting together yet maintaining their original coulours.

White Sandunes & Oasis:

In Nubra Valley the white desert, one can enjoy activities like going on a faster horse namely the ATV, or the ship of the desert namely the double-humped camel. Or do both and also gear up to meet wild horses too. After a day of activities, embrace yourself in Nubra's oasis, Hunder where comfortable Tenting or Boutique Farmstay experience are not to be missed.

Picture-perfect postcards just for you:

As if this isn't enough, let's move to another amazing location where you get the best seats of the river Pangong from the lakeside cottage. You don't need to photo edit the background here because it is a natural beauty that will always compliment you. To top it off, adventure outside and meet the Himalayan Marmots or get mesmerized by the natural starlight sky. Top-notch get away from city lights!

Mementos to take back with you:

Leh city, the capital with connections to visiting the infamous palace, Shanti stupa, a fort, and Masjid too, oh! not to forget, another favourite location Leh market. Ah yes! take back souvenirs as gifts and authentic Kashmiri Pashminas, carpets for your home, and Apricot dry fruits or jams that are locally grown and made.

Your well-earned and well-deserved trip will not disappoint you.
