About The Trip
Brahmagiri trek is one of the famous western ghats trek situated in Kerala. It is named after the Brahmagiri forest reserve of which it is a part of. It is situated on the border of Kodagu and Wayanad districts of Kerala. The mountain is known for its rich biodiversity and is home to a number of rare and endangered species of plants and animals. The Brahmagiri Hill Range is also a popular trekking destination, offering a number of trails through the dense forests and stunning views of the surrounding landscape.
Highlights
- One of the most popular treks in Karnataka and one of the few which strikes a balance between awesome views and being first-time-trekker-friendly. This trek takes you inside the Brahmagiri Wildlife Sanctuary, which borders Kerala and is home to large herds of elephants.
- Wild elephant sightings now and then are not uncommon. With the trail passing through dense forest, endless grasslands, river streams and waterfalls (Iruppu Falls), a trekker’s interest never really wanes. Another unique thing about this trail is the permanent shelter (Narimale Guest House), making it a monsoon-friendly trek even when it is pouring cats and dogs.

- On the first day of your Brahamagiri trek, you will reach Homestay early Morning freshenup and have kerala style breakfast.
- Trek begins from the Thirunelli forest check post.
- Enjoy the serene ambiance and the sounds of nature as you hike through the diverse flora and fauna of the region.
- Reach the peak of Brahmagiri Hill, which offers breathtaking vistas and a sense of accomplishment.
- Spend some time at the summit and have packed lunch, capturing photographs and immersing yourself in the tranquility of the surroundings.
- Descend back to forest check post.
- High tea/freshen up to go to Thinuelli Mahavishnu temple.
- Return back to homestayband rest for the night.
NOTE: For Thirunelli Mahavishnu Temple, men dress code is Shirt & Dhoti. For women the preferred dress code is saree.
