Situated at a height of 7,800 feet, Deoriatal Lake is surrounded by forests all around. Just next to it lies the Chaukhamba massif, the reflection of which can be seen in the water of the lake; and it looks astonishing. One of your most amazing memories of the entire trip will be camping the first night under a starlit sky. Next in the list of visual treats are the meadows that turn to snowfields on the way to Chopta. As you go further up, some beautiful and mighty peaks appear. You get the best view of these peaks from Chandrashila. The journey continues till you reach the end of the summit stretch at the Tungnath temple.

Arrive in Chopta
Alaknanda and Bhagirathi rivers at Devprayag
Begin with this fun-filled journey from Rishikesh by 09:00 am in a private vehicle. Enroute Chopta don't forget to take pictures at the confluence of Alaknanda and Bhagirathi rivers at Devprayag. Reach Chopta around noon & Check in to camps, freshen-up. Later Go for a village walk and visit the riverside to Aakash-Kamini. In the evening, enjoy a warm bonfire and dinner. Overnight stay in camps.
Day 2 : Chopta to Chandrashila
Shiva Temple Chandrashila Peak
Wake up early in the morning & soak your eyes with the beautiful sunrise views, peeping from the mountains. After having a delicious breakfast, head towards Tungnath Chandrashila trek which is the highest Shiva Temple in the world. After mild trekking of 5 km, reach Tungnath temple located on the snowy mountains & pay your tribute to Lord Shiva at the highest abode of Lord Shiva.Trek further to magnificent Chandrashila Peak, It offers perfect breathtaking views of remarkable peaks such as Kedarnath, Mandani, Chaukhamba etc. Come back to the campsite by evening and trek to Sari village for a night stay.Grab a scrumptious dinner and retire for the night.
Deoriatal Lake | Departure
Wake up and get mesmerized by the breathtaking sunrise. Post breakfast, head to Sari Village. Begin your trek to mesmerizing Deoriatal Lake. Reach Deroital and enjoy the astonishing view. Get astonished at the beautiful lake which is surrounded by lush greens & snow-covered mountains in the backdrop.Later, start trekking back and reach Sari village and start your return journey to Rishikesh. Upon reaching Rishikesh the group will disperse. Bid a warm farewell to the fellow travellers.

By Air: Jolly Grant Airport in Dehradun serves as the nearest airport to Rishikesh. Visitors can take a direct flight to Dehradun from Mumbai or Delhi or connecting flights from anywhere in India. Local vehicles can be availed from outside the airport to reach Rishikesh by road from Dehradun.
By Train: Rishikesh Junction Railway Station is well-connected to all the surrounding major cities. Visitors can easily find frequent trains to Rishikesh from Delhi and Dehradun.
By Road: Rishikesh is well connected by roads to all major cities and towns, so visitors as per their choice and comfort can take the bus to reach Rishikesh smoothly. Rishikesh is connected to Chandigarh, Delhi, Dehradun, and Nainital through a good network of roads.

- RT PCR negative certification: Mandatory for Gostops treks. Without it you will not be allowed to trek. You are exempted only if you’ve had two doses of vaccine or were infected with COVID-19 in the last three months. We can arrange the test two days prior to the trek at Gostops Rishikesh at additional cost on request.
Is this trek safe for girls?
Our treks are planned with a male: female ratio. As an organizer, we make sure that their tents are shared only with other female trekkers.
What is the level of fitness expected from the trekkers?
Good physical and mental fitness is expected to complete the Trek. Chandrashila Trek is ideal for beginners to familiarize themselves with similar high altitude treks.
What will be the food menu during the trek?
We make sure that wholesome and nutritious breakfast, lunch and evening snacks are served. We believe and serve only vegetarian food as it is easy to digest and preferable in high altitudes.
