Have you ever been bedazzled by a glorious waterfall surrounded by the enchanting countryside? Or witnessed an astounding milky white waterfall placed amidst flowers? Yes, or No, it’s time you treat yourself to an exhilarating visit to Didupe & Ermai waterfalls.

Didupe and Ermai Waterfalls are the two very mesmeric waterfalls situated in Dakshin Karnataka. Ermai is known for the beautiful surrounding it is set in with gushing waters surrounded by full of flowers, posing for a picturesque photo. The trail to Ermai waterfall is no less either- full of lush greenery. As for Didupe, the cold waters fall from magnificent heights which makes swimming in the pond quite a task. Nonetheless, the challenge is worth some effort because there’s nothing more fulfilling than standing under the water that falls from such heights. The trail to Didupe waterfalls is one you’ll remember.

These contrasting beauties are distanced only a few kilometres from each other, yet they carry their charm that leaves you in awe of the ecosphere that stands only a few hundred kilometres away from your city. Be assured, a trip to Didupe and Ermai waterfalls is sure to give you some good times and undoubtedly, a getaway weekend to rejuvenate after a long week at work.

Breakfast

A warm welcome at the homestay awaits you on the first morning of this fun-filled weekend which will be followed by some delicious vegetarian breakfast and freshening up. Once everyone is set to take on a new day of adventure, we leave for Kadamagundi. You’ll have a good few hours to connect with nature as you’ll be covering the distance on foot. The trial is rewarding enough with blue skies that seem to walk alongside you and the ecosphere around is one you’ll probably find in a calendar back at home. Perhaps, now, you can customize a calendar with an adventure of your own. Didupe falls is absolutely stunning with the magnificent height it falls from. Play around in the water until your heart is content. Again, the pond here is shallow enough to walk around in it so you don’t have to worry about swimming. Chai and coffee will then be served to give this marvellous experience a sweet end.

Soon enough, you’d have some inspiration to meet. Mr B.K Deva Rao, a paddy conservationist is an organic farmer who has been conserving over 154 varieties of paddy since about three and a half decades. He refrains from using any chemical to cultivate his crops, giving absolutely authentic and naturally grown local crops. Mr Rao is a bearer of a presidential award for practising conservation of paddy on such a large scale. Step into his farm, have a chat with the man to find out more about his old and treasured baby-paddy such as Tonnur, Narvara, Messe Bhatta, Kalame, and so many more.

Head out to view the magical sunset from the sunset peak. The sunset isn’t all that brings an overwhelming end to day one. A wholesome local vegetarian dinner which will be provided at the homestay will definitely soothe your soul.

What’s life without adventure? Isn’t the real purpose of life to travel, to experience new places, and witness the sunrise from new mountaintops? This thought is what united Jatin and Tarun over a cup of chai, in spite of being from two unrelated backgrounds (CA and IT). They knew each other since the time Jatin was helping Tarun learn the ways of the wilderness through weekend treks and outings with another traveling group. Their love for traveling and trekking together motivated them to start something of their own. Thus was born “Plan The Unplanned”, where travel goals come true. Under the Companies Act, Plan The Unplanned is incorporated as Unplanned Journeys Private Limited They started their journey on unsteady ground, much like any other company, but they shared an infatuation for travel and adventure with their customers, which amplified their determination, and thus, Plan the Unplanned family keeps getting bigger every day! Just about any travel idea can come alive with Plan The Unplanned…treks, adventure activities like rock climbing, kayaking, rafting, backpacking trips across the country, cultural outings, photo walks; everything that fellow travelers need, to explore the great outdoors together.
