Kedarnath and Badrinath: Two of the holiest sites in Hinduism, are nestled in the majestic Himalayas. Visiting these sacred places is an awe-inspiring experience. Shri Kedarnath Temple, dedicated to Lord Shiva, is the eleventh out of twelve Jyotirlingas of India, whie Shri Badarinath Temple is dedicated to Lord Vishnu. Both temples are situated in Garhwal Division of Uttarakhand at high altitudes in Himalayas and are believed to be established by Aadi Guru Shankaracharya. Clothing:

• Thermals: Pack thermals like innerwear (top and bottoms), socks, and full sleeves to keep yourself warm in the cold weather- 2 pairs
• Jacket for Ice n Snow (preferable water proof)
• Trekking pants: Choose comfortable and breathable trekking pants (3 pairs)
• Quick-drying T-shirts: Opt for quick-drying T-shirts to wick away sweat (3-4 pairs)
• Woolen cap, muffler, and gloves: These will keep you warm in the chilly weather
• Raincoat and waterproof pants: A raincoat and waterproof pants are essential for the unpredictable mountain weather.

Footwear:

• Trekking shoes: A good pair of lightweight and waterproof trekking shoes with good ankle support is crucial for the trek
Other essentials:

• Water bottle: Carry a sturdy water bottle or a hydration bladder to stay hydrated throughout the trek
• Sunglasses and sunscreen: Protect yourself from the sun's harmful rays with sunglasses and sunscreen
• First-aid kit: Carry a basic first-aid kit to treat minor injuries & Insect repellent
• Cash: There might be limited options for ATMs on the trek route, so carry enough cash
• Snacks: Pack plenty of energy-giving snacks like nuts, dry fruits, and chocolate bars
• Power bank: A power bank to keep your electronic devices charged
• Walking stick: A walking stick can also provide support on the trek
• Band aid, Karpoor(Camphor) and Diamox tablets(15 tablets)

Things to avoid carrying:

• Unnecessary electronics: Avoid carrying electronic devices that you won't need on the trek
• Too many clothes: Pack only what you need and layer your clothing to stay warm

• Keep in mind while Backpacking: When packing, please do not strap items such as boots, sleeping bags or roll mats to the outside of your bags. There is a good chance that they will be ripped off while in transit. They also make handling the bags more difficult when loading buses on the trek. It is much better to bring a larger bag that is bigenough for all your kit rather than a smallerone onto whichyou have to strap extra equipment


HOW TO REACH


 

1. Haridwar to Kedarnath

By Road:

  • Haridwar to Sonprayag:

    • Distance: ~230 km
    • Time: 8-9 hours
    • Route: Haridwar → Rishikesh → Devprayag → Srinagar → Rudraprayag → Guptkashi → Sonprayag
    • Transportation: You can take a bus or hire a taxi from Haridwar to Sonprayag. Regular buses and shared jeeps are available.
  • Sonprayag to Gaurikund:

    • Distance: ~5 km
    • Time: 15-20 minutes
    • Transportation: Shared jeeps and private taxis are available from Sonprayag to Gaurikund.
  • Gaurikund to Kedarnath:

    • Distance: 16 km trek
    • Time: 6-8 hours
    • Transportation: You can trek or hire a pony/palanquin. Helicopter services are also available from nearby helipads like Phata, Sersi, or Guptkashi.

2. Kedarnath to Badrinath

By Road:

  • Kedarnath to Sonprayag:

    • Trek down from Kedarnath to Gaurikund and take a shared jeep/taxi to Sonprayag.
  • Sonprayag to Badrinath:

    • Distance: ~220 km
    • Time: 8-9 hours
    • Route: Sonprayag → Guptkashi → Ukhimath → Chopta → Joshimath → Badrinath
    • Transportation: You can hire a taxi or take a bus. The route is scenic but involves mountain roads, so it's advisable to start early in the morning.

3. Badrinath to Haridwar

By Road:

  • Badrinath to Haridwar:
    • Distance: ~320 km
    • Time: 10-12 hours
    • Route: Badrinath → Joshimath → Chamoli → Rudraprayag → Srinagar → Devprayag → Rishikesh → Haridwar
    • Transportation: Regular buses and taxis are available from Badrinath to Haridwar.

👉 80% cash voucher in the form of 'HikeCoin' for same Trip/Trek till one year. If we are informed before 20 days of date of travel. (1 Rupees = 10 HikeCoin)
👉 The applicable refund amount will be processed within 10 business days."
