All About It

- For 12+ years
- Best Season - Winter (Nov, Dec, Jan) Monsoon (Aug, Sept, Oct)
Tucked away on the Goa–Karnataka border, yet very much Goa at heart, Dudhsagar Falls is the kind of place that makes you stop in your tracks. As the water crashes down from over 1,000 metres, it spreads into a foamy white sheet, earning its name – Dudhsagar, the “Sea of Milk.” Standing before it, with the roar in your ears and the mist on your skin, you understand why it’s counted among the five highest waterfalls in India.
But this trip isn’t just about ticking off a famous waterfall. We’re here for the thrill of the journey — trekking through lush forest trails, the sound of streams keeping us company, and that first glimpse of the falls peeking through the greenery. After the trek, we slow things down and explore the quieter, more soulful side of Goa. Think a hidden beach where golden sands meet turquoise waters, forts with sweeping views, and sunsets that look like they’ve been painted just for you.
Still wondering if this trip is for you? Let’s make it easy
1. Why go with Plan The Unplanned?
AC travel, interstate taxes, stays, meals, and a flexible Day 2 — all included. Plan it yourself and you’ll spend more (and miss the fun).
2. What’s different about this Dudhsagar trip?
You’re not just seeing the falls — you’ll trek through lush forests, chill at a secret South Goa beach, and stay in a cosy homestay away from the crowds.
3. Why book early?
Spots for Dudhsagar are limited and sell out fast. The Forest Department has strict entry caps, so early booking = guaranteed entry.
4. Any perks for booking now?
Yep! Early Bird prices for the first 10 bookings, your seat locked in, and zero last-minute FOMO.
Trip Highlights:
- Trek to one of India’s tallest and most powerful waterfalls
- Walk through dense forests and scenic trails
- Witness the raw beauty of a secret South Goa beach
- Catch panoramic views from historic forts
- Enjoy a laid-back holiday with just the right mix of adventure and relaxation
This isn’t your usual Goa getaway. It’s an invitation to see a wilder, more untamed side of it — and once you’ve been, you’ll never look at Goa the same way again.

Trek

Homestay

All Meals
If you look outside, you should be on the narrow country roads of Goa, surrounded by vast lands of untouched wilderness. Embrace the untouched Goa while we slowly drive into Kulem through winding roads & picturesque landscapes.
The stay is one of the best you can find in Kulem and is only a minute’s walk from where the bus will be parked. Get your luggage, check into the designated rooms & freshen up quickly. Grab breakfast from the buffet table, pick up your packed lunch and start the trek. It is mandatory to have a guide and life jackets along with you. Without these, entry into the national park will be prohibited. The initial walk is along the train tracks. This portion of the trek is about 4 KMs but is the most daunting one of all. It truly tests your patience and endurance while you’re taking baby steps. Watch out for the odd train and get off the tracks. You will be accompanied by chirps of birds, running streams, some hidden waterfalls & of course your new-found family.
No need to rush on this track as we have ample time to cover the rest of the trek, more so because of the slippery rocks on the tracks. After about 4 KMs of walking on the tracks, we enter the jeep trail.
The trail from here is pretty flat and is filled with running water streams and dense evergreen forest stretches. After about 40 minutes of walking, you will reach the village of Sonaulim, which is marked by a shack selling refreshments and a Hindu temple on your right-hand side.
The trail gets narrow from here, as you take a shortcut to avoid a longer jeep trail. The falls are only a 30 Mins walk from here.Once you take the shortcut, you will get to see the adjoining mountain ranges. These ranges are the physical boundaries between Karnataka & Goa. After a walk through the muddy trail, you will encounter a hanging bridge. The bridge is slightly inclined, so be sure to hold onto the rope and walk slowly.
Once on the other side of the bridge, the narrow trail continues until we hit the jeep trail again. You can get the first glimpse of the mighty Waterfall on this trail. And soon after getting a glimpse of the falls, you will see the entrance to Dudhsagar falls. There are changing rooms and a police outpost as well. After crossing a river stream filled with slippery rocks, and water flowing with incredible force, we’ll reach the foot of the fall.
We’ll stop here for lunch and refresh ourselves with a jump into the pool at the foot of the fall.
We’ll head back to basecamp on the same way back and take a refreshing bath.
Day 1 - Depart for Kulem

Private Vehicle (Non A/C Push Back Seats Vehicle)

Meals Not Included (Dinner break ( Self-sponsored ))
We begin our journey on Friday evening. We’ll start early compared to the usual trek as we have over 560 KMs to cover. Reaching on time is very essential as the trek is a long one. So, once we get out of the iconic Bangalore traffic and hit the Mumbai- Bangalore highway, our energetic trek leads will take over. Armed with fun activities & ice-breaking sessions, you’ll soon feel at home after knowing about everyone else on the bus. The trek leads will brief the itinerary of the trip ahead and leave you to catch some much-needed sleep.
Day 2 - South Goa Exploration

Private Vehicle (Non A/c Push Back Seats Vehicle)

Stay Not Applicable

Breakfast (Self sponsered Lunch & Dinner)
Today’s motto? No plans, only vibes. This isn’t a fixed itinerary — instead, we’ll let the day flow and decide our stops together. Possible highlights include the hidden paradise of Butterfly Beach (a small, sheltered bay surrounded by hills — perfect for those “secret beach” feels), panoramic views from Cabo de Rama Fort, and the golden sands of Palolem Beach. Along the way, we might wander into tiny fishing villages, sip chai at a clifftop shack, or watch the sun melt into the Arabian Sea from a quiet, off-the-map spot. In South Goa, the best adventures aren’t scheduled — they’re discovered.

What’s life without adventure? Isn’t the real purpose of life to travel, to experience new places, and witness the sunrise from new mountaintops? This thought is what united Jatin and Tarun over a cup of chai, in spite of being from two unrelated backgrounds (CA and IT). They knew each other since the time Jatin was helping Tarun learn the ways of the wilderness through weekend treks and outings with another traveling group. Their love for traveling and trekking together motivated them to start something of their own. Thus was born “Plan The Unplanned”, where travel goals come true. Under the Companies Act, Plan The Unplanned is incorporated as Unplanned Journeys Private Limited They started their journey on unsteady ground, much like any other company, but they shared an infatuation for travel and adventure with their customers, which amplified their determination, and thus, Plan the Unplanned family keeps getting bigger every day! Just about any travel idea can come alive with Plan The Unplanned…treks, adventure activities like rock climbing, kayaking, rafting, backpacking trips across the country, cultural outings, photo walks; everything that fellow travelers need, to explore the great outdoors together.
