Rajmachi is located amidst the Shayadri mountains and falls in between the most famous places of the region Karjat and Lonavala. The village is also known for its forts. It houses two fortified structures – the Shrivardhan (East) and Manaranjan (West) forts. During the first Anglo-Maratha war, the Rajmachi fort played a strategic role and it always stands very high in the heart of the Maratas. It is standing at a height of 2710 feet. Numerous trekking enthusiasts visit Rajmachi Fort in monsoon, for the most thrilling experience, Little do they know that this place is very famous for Fireflies Pre-Monsoon. In Rajmachi Fireflies trek you can see lightning bugs make light within their bodies. The process of bioluminescence occurs here. Fireflies contain specialised cells in their abdomen which produce the light. Are you Excited to witness this Lightning Experience ??
9:00 pm: The journey begins [People joining by bus and flight, make sure you reach Pune Railway Station by 9:00 Am] A brief introduction and setting up the mood for the event.
We wake up to the sounds of Morning Chimes of Train and reach Pune. As we reach Pune, We have a quick breakfast and start our journey to Trek start point. Brunch en-route and we reach Trek Start point. With all instructions from our captain, we will start the trek after sunset and reach our homestay by night. Fireflies are best visible at dusk and hence we do trek in the night. Dinner and some games followed by before we doze off and regenerate our energy for the exciting day ahead.
Wake up before Rooster and set a mood to trek to Rajmachi Fort. Reach Rajmachi Fort as the light reaches this Magnificent Fort During the sunrise Have good snaps, spend time and start our trek back to Home Stay. Have Breakfast and start back to Pune and eventually to Hyderabad.
