Thane Creek stands out as a hidden gem for birdwatching enthusiasts. Embarking on a Flamingo boat ride along the creek offers a unique opportunity to witness an abundance of birdlife, including both Lesser and Greater Flamingos. In addition, visitors have the chance to see a variety of other avian species such as Avocets, Northern Shovelers, Grey Herons, Egrets, Plovers, Sandpipers, Black-headed Ibises, among others, making it a memorable experience for all nature lovers.
Trip duration: Around 1.5 hours (Including 1 hour Boat ride)
Important Details
- There are 12-seater boats (10 seats in shade)
- There is a basic public washroom near the ticket counter but no washroom facility near the jetty.
- Due to ongoing maintenance work on the approach road for almost a km hence some extra time should be kept for reaching.
- Parking is available near the jetty point on the road.
- Senior citizens with less mobility can find it a bit inconvenient to board the boat due to bamboo jetty. (Can share pics to give you an idea about this)
- Finding an Ola/ uber or auto while returning from jetty is not feasible so either u have to walk back or keep your cab waiting till boat ride gets over.

Trekking with wandering souls was a safe and good experience. The team leads were genuinely caring and made sure of everyone's safety despite having a large group.The trek was well designed and it also had an introduction session which served as an icebreaker and made the batch more friendly towards eachother. The crowd was decent and blending, you can meet and make new friends. It was my first time trekking with a group and I would join them soon 💪🏽👍🏽

I had the opportunity to travel with wandering souls to during the monsoon. Everyone was taken care of in the group with breakfast and lunch provided at right time. I have been travelling for the last 8 years but it was the first time travelling with a trek organiser. Wandering souls washed away the bias that I had against tour organisers. Everyone was given opportunity to take their own time. They also had team building exercises which were really fun and helped set the mood for a group activity. Planning the next trip with them soon.

- Entry charge of Rs 55 per adult and Rs 25 per child for Indian Nationals. For Foreign Nationals, Rs 110 per person for entry
- Transportation from main road to inside jetty point if required.
- Camera Charges Rs 165
- Car Parking charges if taking your car inside till jetty point. Rs 165

Policy and more
- Cancellation charge of 15% would be deducted from the booking if cancelled 2 days before the event
- No refund would be granted if cancelled within 2 days of the event.
- No refund (Partial or otherwise) will be made if you voluntarily leave or drop out of a trip for any reason after the trip has begun. No refunds will be made for any accommodation, transportation, sightseeing, meals or services not utilized

- A planned activity or programs may be cancelled or revised depending on the weather or any other unavoidable circumstances
- Wandering Souls will not be responsible for any physical harm during the activity. If you follow the instruction of the coordinator, chances of getting hurt remain rare

How will you contact me once I register?
One day prior to event, we will send you an "event headsup" email with further details, instructions, event coordinator contact details, etc. Along with these, it will also consist of event specific Whatsapp group invite link. Kindly click on the link & join this group for further coordination. (Note: Keep an eye at your spam folder too)
Can I come alone?
Yes, many of our participants are solo travellers.
Is it safe for a female solo traveller?
It is completely safe for a female solo traveller as our representatives will be there with you all the time. Moreover, most of our events have 60% female participation.
Can we smoke or drink alcohol?
Smoking or drinking alcohol is prohibited.
What if I have a medical emergency?
We will carry first aid kit with us. The coordinators will be first aid certified. If the problem increases, we will quickly get you to closest medical attention possible.
What kind of clothing we need to wear?
We recommend you wear comfortable clothes.
