Embark on an hour-long boat safari through the beautiful and diverse Bhandup mangroves in Mumbai. We will be guided by a knowledgeable naturalist who will help us see the otherwise unnoticed vibrant flora and fauna that call Mumbai their home. You will also learn about the huge significance of this complex ecosystem and how it keeps our city safe.

Goes without saying, we’ll be amid a thousand flamingooooos!

This boat safari is the perfect way to witness the wonders in the mangroves that have protected our city for centuries. Apart from several flamboyance of flamingos (Yas! The collective noun for flamingos is flamboyance!), you can also spot a host of migratory birds like the Black-Headed Ibis, Black-Tailed Godwits, Eurasian Curlews, and various species of sandpipers. Resident birds like herons, egrets, kingfishers, and terns are also commonly sighted during this period.

Each boat seats just 10 people, so we’ll be a nice tiny group (BOOK YOUR SEATS ASAP!

Vagabond started out as a project by four friends with a disdain for the ordinary. The idea was simple; take people out of their comfort zones. Fueled by entrepreneurial zeal, we started with small events in the city like heritage walks through Bombay’s old quarters. As musicians and travellers ourselves, we decided to marry these two loves of our lives. That is how the idea for the first Fields of Sound™ came about. Since then, it has only been onward and upwards for us. Since 2014, we’ve made friends like family through our journey. Our little ‘Vaga’-Fam. It’s safe to say, it’s been quite an adventure. One we would like you to join :)

HOW TO REACH

Private vehicle:

You have to reach the jetty point at Bhandup Pumping Station. Search for ‘Ungavta Dev Ferry Boat’ in Google maps. Here's the location link https://maps.app.goo.gl/EuQBXrD35JDgyVMj9

 

Taxi:

Uber/OLA: While having a private vehicle is most convenient to attend this experience, the next best alternative is an Uber or OLA. You can type in ‘Ungavta Dev Ferry Boat’ and get dropped here directly. However on the return, you would have to walk approximately a kilometre till the ticket counter for your return pick-up.

 

Please note: Rickshaws can’t enter this area.

 

-Cancellations made 3 days or more in advance of the event date will incur a 70% cancellation

-Cancellations made 72 hrs to the event date will receive no refund

-Tickets are transferable and you can send someone else in your place. Inform us beforehand
