Peregrinating on the Kudremukh National Park peaks, a trekker's voyage is complete once they visit one of the dramatic siblings of the Kudremukh and Netravati Peak treks. Sitting on the cosy aisle of Kudremukh National Park, we have discovered a trek called Gangadikal Peak trek for the trekkers obsessed with perfection.
The Gangadikal trek offers steep ascents and deep valleys, putting you on a high for 4 km (one way). It is moderate in difficulty. Witness Lakya Dam backwaters, Kudremukh mountains, and valleys. Walk through the canopy of trees accentuated by natural beauty and the voices of insects and birds. Internalise the smoothness of grasslands.
On a two-day adventure, you will push your limits, trek on a stunning trail, go to fun-filled Secret Waterfalls and visit Kudremukh Hanging Bridge. Day 0 - Journey to Chikmagalur

We will start our journey from Bangalore to our homestay Chikmagalur. We will stay near the base of the trek at an offbeat location. The homestay lies at a distance of 330 km from Bangalore. During your journey, trek Leaders will give a brief of the whole trip, introduce each other and play an essential part in making everyone comfortable. It’s almost a 6-hour journey. You will probably not get time to sleep once we reach there, so it is recommended to sleep on the bus itself during the journey. Crossing Nelamangala, Hassan and Belur, we will reach our destination by early morning.
After refreshing and having breakfast, we will start to the base of the trek..

The Gangadikal total trek distance is 8 km and is moderate in difficulty. Some sections are steep, and descending is difficult. There are no water sources on the trail, so carry at least 2 litres of water.
The initial section upto 200 m takes us inside the forest. The trees form a beautiful canopy. You will find leeches, and during monsoon, their number climbs up. The trek opens to huge Microsoft Windows-like wallpaper grasslands for 4 km as you move further. The tinge of greens and sunshine resting on the leaves plays a diplomatic role in giving this area a bright essence.
The playfulness of elements on this trek adds a unique character, as clouds will never let you rest your eyes on one thing; the droplets shyly make way from the atmosphere to your cheeks; and the sun's rays will protect you from the intermittent cold. During the monsoon, the drama is even more accentuated.
We also glimpse the backwaters of the Lakya Dam and Kudremukh Peak. We will spend a reasonable amount of time at the peak and relish a packed lunch there. Later we will descend, and as time permits us to do more in the day, we will go to Kudremukh Hanging Bridge.
Later, we will return to the homestay, freshen up, play games, have dinner, and sit by the bonfire if the weather permits. After this, we will retire for the night with nostalgic memories from the trek.
Day 2 - Visit Secret Falls and return to Bangalore

The next day will begin with a healthy and tasty breakfast, after which we will start our journey to Kodige Falls. If the current permits, we will dip in the cold water or stay here for a silent morning delight. Later, we will trek back to the vehicle and continue our journey.
After a self-sponsored lunch, we will start our journey back to Bangalore. On the way, you will still be reminiscing about the moments. You can sit and watch the passing scenery or join in to play games.
We will stop for tea and the washroom. At around 10 pm, we will reach our destination. It's difficult to cut the conversations just when we start to open up. But that's why we have other appealing treks lined up. We bid each other goodbyes with heavy hearts, only to meet again. Until next time, care to check our itineraries and ring us soon.

Policy and more
- Cancellations made 30 days before the date of travel, would not bear 30% cancellation charge and you will get a 100% refund of the booking amount
- Cancellations made within 15-30 days before the date of travel, would cost 50% of the booking amount and the remaining will be refunded
- Cancellations made within 7-15 days before the date of travel, would cost 70% of the booking amount and the remaining will be refunded
- Cancellations made within 0-7 days before the date of travel, would cost 100% of the booking amount and the remaining will be refunded
- An experience can get non-operational due to sudden changes in government policies or regulations, or due to unpredicted weather conditions, leading to required alterations
- In such cases, the tour operators will try their level best to execute the tour with an alternative similar to the booked experience
- Moreover, cancellations due to involuntary conditions like the above are not refunded to cover the operations and tour management cost
- As per the RBI guidelines, any applicable refund should reflect in the original payment mode in 5-7 working days
