Harishchandragad is a hill fort in the Ahmednagar district of India. It is known for its scenic beauty and charm. The fort is quite ancient. Remnants of microlithic man have also been discovered here. Its origin is said to have been in the 6th century, during the rule of Kalachuri dynasty.
Highlights
- Kedareshwar Cave – There is the huge cave of Kedareshwar in which there is a big Shiva Linga, which is completely surrounded by water. Its height from the base is five feet, and the water is waist-deep. here are sculptures carved out in the cave. In the monsoon it is not possible to reach this cave, as a huge stream flows across the way.
- KokanKada – This cliff faces west and looks down upon the Konkan. It provides views of the surrounding region.
- Caves on Harishchandragad – These caves are spread out all over the fort. Many of these are situated at the foot of Taramati peak and are the place of accommodation. A few are near the temple, whereas some are near the citadel and some far away in the forests

- 10:00 pm – Report at SGNP Borivali
- 10:15 pm – Leave for Base village
- 10:30 pm – Pick up from Andheri
- 11:00 pm – Pick up from Sion
- 11:15 pm – Pick up from Amar Mahal, Ghatkopar
- 11:40 pm – Pick up from Thane
Day 2:
- 05:00 hrs – Reach base village, and start preparing for the trek ahead
- 06:00 hrs – Start the trek towards Harishchandragad.
- 09:00 hrs – Reach Kedareshwar caves and continue your journey towards Konkankada
- 11:30 hrs – After exploring the area we will start our trek back to the base village.
- 13:30 hrs – Reach base village and have lunch an start preparing for the journey home.
- 14:30 hrs – Leave for Mumbai in our private vehicle
- 20:00 hrs – Reach Mumbai and bid goodbyes to your trek buddies with a promise to meet again.

Trekking with wandering souls was a safe and good experience. The team leads were genuinely caring and made sure of everyone's safety despite having a large group.The trek was well designed and it also had an introduction session which served as an icebreaker and made the batch more friendly towards eachother. The crowd was decent and blending, you can meet and make new friends. It was my first time trekking with a group and I would join them soon 💪🏽👍🏽

I had the opportunity to travel with wandering souls to during the monsoon. Everyone was taken care of in the group with breakfast and lunch provided at right time. I have been travelling for the last 8 years but it was the first time travelling with a trek organiser. Wandering souls washed away the bias that I had against tour organisers. Everyone was given opportunity to take their own time. They also had team building exercises which were really fun and helped set the mood for a group activity. Planning the next trip with them soon.

Things to carry
- Identity Proof (Mandatory)
- Bottle of Water (at least 2 litres)
- Ready to eat food like plum cakes, dry fruits etc.
- Cap, Camera
- Good Trekking shoes
- Rain coat/ Poncho / Wind cheater please avoid umbrellas
- Personal care stuff, ORS, medicines which you require usually
- Put essentials like money, spare clothes in a polythene bag inside the bag
- Haversack to put all the things in, please do not carry sling bags or jholas

Policy and more
- Cancellation charge of 15% would be deducted from the booking if cancelled 2 days before the event
- No refund would be granted if cancelled within 2 days of the event.
- No refund (Partial or otherwise) will be made if you voluntarily leave or drop out of a trip for any reason after the trip has begun. No refunds will be made for any accommodation, transportation, sightseeing, meals or services not utilized

We will be mailing you the details about the trek a day or two before the trek. We will also create a WhatsApp group a day before the trek.
What is the difficulty level of this trek?
This trek is of moderate difficulty with around 3 hours of hike each side.
Will I be able to do this trek? I have not trekked before.
We encourage you to come and experience the trek with us. Trekking is not about speed and our representatives will be there to encourage you to complete the trek
What is the age limit for this trek?
The age limit for the trek is 18 years with no upper limit. Participants below the age of 18yrs need to be accompanied by a guardian
Can I come alone?
Yes, many of our participants are solo travellers.
Is it safe for a female solo traveller?
It is completely safe for a female solo traveller as our representatives will be there with you all the time. Moreover, most of our event have 60% female participation.
Can I Bring my Car?
Yes, you can bring your car
Are washrooms available during the trek?
You will not get washrooms during the trek. Washrooms are available at the base village.
Can we smoke or drink alcohol?
Smoking or drinking alcohol is prohibited.
Would I get cellular connectivity?
You will get limited connectivity during the trek.
What type of food will I get?
We will be having breakfast (Veg/Jain) & Lunch (Veg/Jain/Non-Veg) at a local restaurant.
Will I get water during the trek?
You won’t get water during the trek, you need to carry at least 2 litres of water with you
What if I have a medical emergency?
We will carry first aid kit with us. The coordinators will be first aid certified. If the problem increases, we will quickly get you to closest medical attention possible.
What kind of clothing we need to wear?
We recommend you wear full sleeve t-shirt and full pants. Also carry a Raincoat/ wind cheater for the rains. Umbrellas are a strict NO.
Do I need special shoes?
We recommend trekking shoes or good quality sports shoes with firm sole
