About Us

We, Footloose Journeys, are a novel travel venture in the area of Responsible & Sustainable Ecotourism. Since 2015, we have been working on a variety of wildlife experiences that focus on wildlife exploration, interaction with tribal communities to understand the life around the jungles, knowledge sharing about conservation of our natural heritage, wildlife photography, and also, interaction with Forest Officers to understand the details of wildlife protection and management. Varad Bansod

One of the first volunteers of the team. An avid nature lover, his keen interest in the natural world has taken him to some of the most remote places in India at a very young age. He has chosen environmental studies as his academic interest as well. He regularly volunteers with researchers and even regional Forest Departments for conservation related studies and surveys. Travelling has earned him quiet a handful of knowledge, and that shows on the camps! Since he loves to connect with people, he makes sure that he makes close friends wherever he travels!

Pooja Deshpande

Co-founder & instructor at Footloose Journeys. Over the years, she has taken several camps to the Northern and North-eastern areas of India to take part in the education campaigns there. Rich in experiences, her stories are worth an ear!. She is the organiser and the practical head behind the venture. One can always find her fussing after campers’ smallest needs! With her multi-tasking abilities she ensures that things run smoothly. She always carries the urge to help the needy in her heart.
