The Kasol Kheerganga Trek starts at Kasol, a small village located in the Kullu district of Himachal Pradesh. It is nestled deep in the scenic Parvati Valley and is fast emerging as a major spot for tourists looking for budget traveling. Kheerganga’s history is believed to be dated thousands of years back, with the natural place coming into existence as the abode of Lord Shiva.

The Kasol Kheerganga (Khir Ganga) trek is a favorite amongst those seeking a backpacker’s adventure in Kasol or Kullu. The best time to visit Kasol and Kheerganga depends on your trekking preference. For warmer weather and spring, visit from March to early June. For snow and colder weather, go in November to early December or late January to February.

This easy-level trek covers 24 km in 2 days, ideal for beginners. Explore Israeli cafes and shop for souvenirs in Kasol. This trek offers trekking, camping at 2960 m, bathing in natural hot springs in Kheerganga, and stunning views of River Parvati and the Himalayas. Start from Barshaini's dam, get trekking gear if needed, and enjoy Rudra Nag Waterfall on the way.

Visit Rudra Nag temple and follow trek leader's instructions. Yellow and blue huts signal Kheerganga's proximity. Experience Kasol's hospitality with a riverside camp stay and indulge in local culture and cuisine. Camp at Kheerganga with campfires and sleeping bags. Make the most of your vacation with this nature-filled adventure!

Everything was carefully planned.
The trip was just the right mix of excitement and rest. The hot waters in Kheerganga helped heal and calm people. Everything was carefully planned, from the time we arrived in Kasol to the time we left. It went off without a hitch.

Best place to visit in parvati valley .
I can't wait to plan another trip with this company. Kasol and Kheerganga weren't the only places I went to. The Parvati River in Kasol and the lush greenery of Kheerganga were good for the soul.

On the road, it takes about 1,190 kilometres to get from Delhi to Kheerganga. The trek is about 12 km long. But the trek to Kheerganga begins in Barshaini, a village about 30 km from Kullu. How far you have to go depends on where you start and where you go.

As Kheerganga is 22 km away from Kasol, it is easy to get there. You need to take a local bus between Bhuntar and Barshaini to get to Kasol. Barshaini is your base point along your Kheerganga Trek.

No, you can't drive your own car to Kheerganga. But It is possible to reach the starting point of the Kheerganga trek by car. The trek starts from the village of Barshaini, which is located around 30km from Kullu. From Kullu, one can take the road to Manikaran and then take the turn off to Barshaini. From Barshaini to Kheerganga, is a 12km trek.

Kheerganga is a moderate trek. The 12km trek takes 6-7 hours. The well-defined trail passes through forests, meadows, steep ascents, and rocks. For beginners or those with mobility concerns, the trek might be difficult. Starting at 1,250m, the walk climbs to 2,950m. Before the trek, it's necessary to be in good shape and acclimatise.

The best season to visit Kasol is May to June and September to October. The trek to Kheerganga is closed from July to August due to bad weather and rainy season in Kasol. From November through April, Kheerganga is inaccessible due to severe snowfall and freezing temperatures. Avoid winter trekking at Kasol.

Yes. When you start hiking to the top of Kheerganga, you might see a lot of snow. Most of the time, snow stays on top of the mountains during the cold months. You might see a lot of trekkers taking pictures of the snow-covered mountain ranges as you walk.

Yes, Kheerganga trekking is one of the few adventures that can be done at any time of the year. Unlike other hilly parts of India, the weather here isn't too extreme. You can go to this piece of land at any time to have a great vacation. Just be careful when it starts to snow. Trekking can't happen here while it's snowing, until everything gets back to normal.

Yes, No type of traveler needs to worry about this kind of safety in Kasol. We had good times with both male and female solo travelers. Even a place to stay will be made available for you. So, don't put yourself in a box just because you're a single woman travelling alone.

Yes, the Kheerganga trek is a great trekking trip, especially if you are just starting out. Your first time climbing is much easier, and you don't need any special training to do it. But to be ready for the next turns and twists, you need to know the basics.
