Kedarnath is a city in Rudraprayag District in the State of Uttarakhand in India and has gained significance because of the Kedarnath Temple. It’s roughly 86 kilometres from Rudraprayag, the quarter headquarter. It’s a Nagar panchayat in the Rudraprayag quarter. Kedarnath is the most remote of the four Chota Char Dham pilgrimage spots. It’s located in the Himalayas, about 3,583 m (11,755 ft) above ocean position near the Chorabari Glacier, which is the source of the Mandakini swash. The city is adjoined by snow- limited peaks, utmost prominently the Kedarnath Mountain. The nearest road head is at Gaurikund about 16 km down. The views from Kedarnath are some of the stylish views of the Himalayan range you’ll get, along with blooming rhododendrons, vast geographies and green timbers. Along with Kedarnath, we also take you to Chopta, which is the mecca of numerous trekking spots. We’ll take you to Deoriatal, which is a high altitude lake which is 4kms hike from Chopta.

Rishikesh to Chopta. 225km, 8hr drive. Expected arrival time in Chopta at 06:00 pm. The route will be covering the Byasi, Devprayag, Srinagar, Rudraprayag, and Agastmuni hill stations on the way. Have your lunch in the midway and you will reach the destination in the evening. Check-in at the hotel and enjoy the evening. Rest for the day.

Wake up early morning as we start our trek to Kedarnath from Gaurikund. 16 km trek so people can even hire a horse ride to the top. The journey towards Gaurikhand begins at Sonprayag after having a succulent breakfast early in the morning. Springs of warm water await us at Gaurikhand. Evening aarti offered to Lord Shiva satiates the environment with faith, dedication, and spirituality. The stay is arranged at a hotel nearby.

Had an amazing trip. The local food was delicious. The people are extremely welcoming and treat you well. The overall experience was very good. The only thing which I could suggest is that the washrooms could have been cleaner. Overall enjoyed it :)

You can reach Delhi by Air or Railways. Indira Gandhi International Airport is the airport in Delhi that has flight connectivity all over India. Delhi Junction is the Railway Station that also has trains connectivity all over India. Delhi is also connected by road to all the major cities in India. Delhi has several bus terminals and the major operator is the Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC).

When Kedarnath will be open for visitors?

Kedarnath Temple is located near the Mandakini river in the Himalayan range in the state of Uttarkhand. Due to the weather conditions, the temple is open for visitors between the months of  April or May (during Akshaya Tritiya) and November (during Karthik Purnima). The Kedarnath will remain open till Bhai Dooj which will be happening after Diwali. The temple will remain closed for the next 6 months.

What is the darshan timing in the Kedarnath temple?

Morning- 4:00 am to 3:00 pm
Evening- 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm

What kind of stay I will be getting during Kedarnath Backpacking & trekking?

You will be getting 6 Nights of Accommodation in Hotels/Homestays/Camps on Triple Sharing Basis. 

What is the difficulty level of Kedarnath Backpacking & trekking?

The trek to Kedarnath will start from Guptkashi/ Sitapur. We have to cover a distance of 16km to reach the destination. The trekking path is having moderate difficulty. There are facilities like Kandi, Palki, and Mules for children of senior citizens.

Drinking water is available during the Kedarnath trekking?

There are enough shops and drinking water facilities during the trek.

Important things to remember before starting the Kedarnath Trek ?

  • The Kedarnath trekking is done at higher altitude places. If you are facing any respiratory issues, kindly consult with the doctor about the possibility of doing the trek before starting it.
  • Smoking and drinking is strictly prohibited inside the vehicle
  • Carry your valid identity card (Mandatory)
  • Follow the rules and regulations given by the trek guide without any fail
  • Do not carry any valuable items

What is the meal provided during the Kedarnath trekking?

Pure Veg Breakfast & Dinner (Starting from Breakfast  to Dinner will be provided during the trip.

Hot water facility is available during the stay?

You will get hot water in showers for a few hours in the morning. Kindly ask the receptionist about the timings in advance.

Is Kedarnath Trip is safe for solo and female travelers?
