The Kuari Pass Trek, also known as 'Lord Curzon's Trail,' begins in the quaint village of Dhak and ascends towards the Kuari Pass. As per mythology, this sacred place is where the young Goddess Parvati meditated to win the favor of Lord Shiva, whose celestial home is believed to be the Neelkanth peak. Moved by her devotion, Lord Shiva is said to have come to this very spot to marry her. Interestingly, in Hindi, 'Kuari' translates to 'unmarried,' symbolizing Parvati's state before her union, which gives the pass its unique name. The Neelkanth peak, located just 33 km away, remains visible throughout the trek, adding to the spiritual ambiance of the journey.
