Kunjapuri Temple is located 28 kms far from Rishikesh at an altitude of 1650 meters. The Temple is dedicated to Goddess Shakti and is also one of the 52 shakti peeth of Goddess Parvati in India and Nepal. The tour starts early in the morning and from the top one can enjoy the beautiful views of the distant Himalayan mountains and the Ganga River.

Kunjapuri Sunrise trek is a half day excursion trek to Kunjapuri Temple located 24km from Tapovan at an altitude of 1645 meters from sea level . The trek starts early in the morning 1 hour before sunrise. You will be picked from Rishkesh Laksham Jhula by a car. It's an approx 1 Hour drive.After reaching the parking lot we will be climbing around 300 stairs to reach the Temple. The temple is dedicated to Goddess Shakti and is considered a very sacred temple in the local area. From the top one can see the mesmerizing views of the Himalayas. Also you witness 4 major ice capped peaks in the northeastern direction including Swarga Rohini, Gangotri, Banderpunch and Chaukhamba. Get enchanted by the sunrise view from the Temple compound followed by the brief storytelling session. We will have breakfast on our way down from the temple. After breakfast we head towards a special spot on the southern part of the temple premises which gives us a clear view of river Ganga spreading its arms in the gangetic plains. After this we will trek down (Total 9 Km Trek) and Experience local life along the route while enjoying the breathtaking views of the distant Himalayan mountains and the Ganga River. Trek through the paddy fields, dense forests and local Garhwal village. The trek will end at Neer Garh Waterfall.

Nearest Airport: Jolly Grant Aiport, Dehradun is the nearest airport located at a distance of 32 KM from the starting point. One can hire either a taxi or a shared vehicle from the airport to reach the reporting point. Nearest Bus Stop: Rishikesh Bus Stand is the nearest bus stop located at a distance of 15 km from the reporting point. One can hire either a taxi or a shared vehicle from the bus stand to reach there. Nearest Railway Station: Yog Nagari Rishikesh Railway Station is the nearest railway station located at a distance of 8 km from the starting point. One can hire either a taxi or a shared vehicle from the bus stand to reach there. Travelers can come to Laxman Jhula from where they get transferred to the starting location of the rafting and from the ending location traveler will be transferred back to Laxman Jhula. You can get private and public transportation to reach the spot.
