Nag Tibba (Serpent’s Peak) 9,914 ft, is the highest peak in the lesser Himalayan region of Garhwal Division, Uttarakhand. It gives a name to the Nag Tibba Range, which is one of the three ranges of the Lesser Himalayas, the other ranges are Dhauladhar and Pir Panjal. From Nag Tibba one can see the clear view of the stunning Bandarpoonch peak, the Gangotri group of peaks, the Kedarnath peak in the north, Doon Valley, and the snow peaks of Changbang.

The range owes its name to a temple dedicated to Nag Devta. Snakes have always had an important and sacred place in Hindu mythology as they are said to represent the cycle of birth, death, and rebirth by way of shedding their skin and various other legends and stories. Villagers from nearby consider the deity of this temple as the protector of their cattle and other domesticated animals.

Nag Tibba Trek is located at a distance of 85 km from Dehradun and has a distance of approx 16 km in total. Trek gradient is moderate and can be easily covered by anyone in two days

It is the best weekend gateway destination for the people living in and around Delhi. In winter it is packed in the snow, which gives you a picturesque view of the place.

Highlights

Spectacular Views: The trek offers breathtaking panoramic views of the snowcapped Himalayan peaks, including Swargarohini, Bandarpoonch, Kala Nag, and many others. The sunrise and sunset views from Nag Tibba are particularly stunning.

Flora and Fauna: The trail takes you through dense forests filled with oak, pine, and rhododendron trees. You may also encounter a variety of wildlife and bird species during the trek.

Campsite at Nag Tibba Base: Camping at the Nag Tibba base camp is a unique experience. You can enjoy a bonfire under the starry sky and wake up to the majestic Himalayan views.

Seasonal Changes: The trek offers different experiences depending on the season. In winter, you can enjoy snow trekking, while spring and summer bring lush greenery and wildflowers.

Sunrise and Sunset Views: Watching the sunrise and sunset from Nag Tibba's summit can be a deeply spiritual experience for many. These moments of transition are often associated with spiritual symbolism and can inspire a sense of awe and wonder

Nag Devta (Serpent God) Connection: The name "Nag Tibba" itself is derived from two Hindi words: "Nag," which means serpent or snake, and "Tibba," which means hill or peak. According to local folklore and Hindu mythology, Nag Tibba is believed to be the abode of Nag Devta, the serpent god.
