There is an adventure ringing on the aisle of the new year 2024 that will bring packets of peace and harmony. Heavenly sitting at 1300 m in the Mookambika Wildlife Sanctuary is a standalone Sarvajna Peetha, a small temple-like structure made of stone where Adi Sankaracharya is said to have meditated. Trekkers climb up approximately 14 km in search of shimmering dusk, glimpses of the Arabian Sea en route, and Hidlumane falls. The whole route tik-toks into forests, climb almost 50 degrees and lays bare on rest on grasslands.
Rising into heaven, the Kodachadri trek opens up deeply into thick shola forest and grasslands like layers of peaceful vistas. It is a revered trek for nature enthusiasts. If you are craving greenery, forests, and natural colours assorted with smells, delight, and adventure, come home to Kodachadri this new year.
One can summit the Kodachadri trek in two ways: 14 km trek, and 12 km jeep route + 2 km trek. We will take the trekking route, go up, and come back via jeep. A trek to Kodachadri will leave you spellbound.
We will visit Nagara Fort and Devagange Temple, where we will find solace and a sense of tranquillity as we offer our prayers and witness the divine aura surrounding the temple.
Plan the Unplanned New Year Kodachadri 2024 Package has carved out a list of exclusive visits to the fort and temple, and a trek that will fill you with gaiety. Say goodbye to 2023 while doing the Kodachadri trek, and welcome 2024. Both ways, you are bound to surrender to the rhythms of nature. Note that New Year seats are limited and only reserved on a first-come, first-serve basis. So, kindly go through the complete itinerary and reserve your seat at your earliest.

All Meals
The cosy little homestay is a short drive away from the starting point of our trek. The strictly authentic local vegetarian cuisine served here delights the senses. Add to that the amiable old couple running the place, look after your every need.
After a quick freshen-up and fulfilling breakfast, we pack our bags again and get prepped for long trekking.
There are mainly five milestones that one needs to look out for on the Kodachadri trail. The first is an open field of meadow that pops up out of nowhere amidst thick forest trails. Numerous paddy fields later, the trail leads up to a house where a small surprise awaits the tired trekkers.
Spoiler alert, the challenging part of the trek starts from here.
The second is the much-awaited Hidlumane Falls, a combination of seven waterfalls. However, your efforts are duly rewarded with spectacular views of the main waterfall cascading down on you from a height of about 60 feet. The feeling of pristine water gushing over your tired body will be therapy. Refill your water bottles here, as you’ll need them for the trek.
An almost vertical climb on the front face of the trail over tree roots and slippery rocks from the Kodachadri Falls leads to steeper meadows that eventually end up on the top of the very first peak on this trail. This forms the third milestone and is an excellent place to rest and have some much-deserved lunch.
Further, the path diverges only to merge until it joins the jeep trail leading up to the Kodachadri Temple. This is your fourth milestone and the point from where you’ll be boarding the jeep on your way down.
From here, a rocky trail through a cliff’s edge leads you to the fifth and final milestone, the Kodachadri peak itself. Here you will find the Sarvajna Peetha, a small temple-like structure made of stone where Adi Sankaracharya, an 8th-century Indian philosopher and theologian, is said to have meditated.
Apart from this, grand vistas scattering myriad hues across the vast evening sky make all your efforts worthwhile and fill you with a sense of achievement.
Descend to a point by trekking, and get into a jeep ride to the base of the trek.
The most challenging part is over. At the homestay, freshen up, have breakfast, and sit around for a crispy chit-chat/dance/game session. Exchange talks, horror stories or just relax while counting stars. We will celebrate the upcoming new year and fill it up with promises to make it better every single day.

Breakfast
The last day was heavy, but today opens up new opportunities. Wake up, freshen up, and have breakfast. Day 2 of our adventure brings us to the enchanting Nagara Fort and Devagange Temple. As we explore the historical Nagara Fort, we immerse ourselves in its rich heritage and take in the panoramic views of the surrounding Western Ghats. The intricate architecture and fascinating stories behind the fort make it a captivating destination.
Next, we make our way to the Devagange Temple, a place of spiritual significance nestled amidst the serene natural beauty of the region. Here, we find solace and a sense of tranquillity as we offer our prayers and witness the divine aura surrounding the temple. The day is filled with awe-inspiring sights and experiences that leave an indelible mark on our hearts and minds.
Just like this, we will magically drop you into this odd year. Although almost impossible, we will have to leave each other's company to return to routine, which is equally important. This was a punched-up, spiced end to 2023. Now that you are in 2024, feel glad for everything you have and get on with your life with a bang!
Rest well and stay positive. Once you are ready to do it all over again, call us. Our team would love to hear from you again. Check out our other itineraries and ring us soon. Till then, take care and love life.

What’s life without adventure? Isn’t the real purpose of life to travel, to experience new places, and witness the sunrise from new mountaintops? This thought is what united Jatin and Tarun over a cup of chai, in spite of being from two unrelated backgrounds (CA and IT). They knew each other since the time Jatin was helping Tarun learn the ways of the wilderness through weekend treks and outings with another traveling group. Their love for traveling and trekking together motivated them to start something of their own. Thus was born “Plan The Unplanned”, where travel goals come true.
