Waterbabies Alert! Test the water, taste it and make waves inside. Presenting to you the Offbeat Waterfalls Trek to Didupe Waterfalls, Ermaai Waterfalls and Bolle Waterfalls with a spiritual punch to Surya Temple in Dharmasthala.

Have you ever been bedazzled by a glorious waterfall surrounded by enchanting countryside? Or witnessed an astounding milky white waterfall placed amidst flowers? Yes or No, it’s time you treat yourself to an exhilarating Offbeat waterfalls trek in the Dakshin Kannada district of Karnataka.

Ermai is known for the beautiful surroundings it is set in, with gushing waters surrounded by full of flowers, posing for a picturesque photo. The trail to Ermai waterfall is no less either – full of lush greenery. The five-tiered falls create a pool that gives swimmers a real treat. As for Didupe, the cold water falls from magnificent heights, making swimming in the pond tricky. The trail to Didupe waterfalls is one you’ll remember. These contrasting beauties are distanced only a few kilometres from each other, yet they carry their charm that leaves you in awe of the ecosphere that stands only a few hundred kilometres away from your city.

Bolle Waterfalls, falling from 100 feet, is another hidden treasure in the vault of Kudremukha National Park

A visit to Surya Temple Ujire or Shri Sadashiva Rudra temple is said to alleviate your sins or pains and bless you with desired wishes. The process is straightforward – just take one Sankalp; once it is fulfilled, return to the temple and offer a visual version of your wish. These sculptures are called Mannina Bombey in the local language. For example – if you wished for a house and it got fulfilled, offer a mud idol.

With love, Plan the Unplanned team wants you to fall in love with Karnataka's waterfalls. And we believe why just go to crowded places. There are uncountable offbeat waterfalls in Karnataka that involve light trekking. This is a glimpse of the beauty of India. Read the itinerary of Offbeat Waterfalls treks in Karnataka for the comprehensive plan, and book your tickets as soon as possible.

Notice that this New Year, seats are limited and will be filled out on a First Come, First Serve basis. Also, be informed that this New Year is preceded by a weekend, so kindly check out the itinerary and book your seats at the earliest.

Trek (Non-AC ( Push Back Seats ))

Homestay

All Meals

We will reach the homestay very early in the morning at around 6:30 am. Since we reach early, we will get ample time to freshen up, pack up and get ready for the trekking and dipping in waterfalls. Magnificent views of Netravathi opens up from the homestay.

Note: We advise you to wear light clothes, so that they dry up on their own after you take some dips in the waterfalls.

After you are ready, come to the dining area at 8:30 am, where a power-packed breakfast will be served. After having the day's first meal, we will go out for our first waterfalls: Ermaayi Waterfalls. Trek for 4 km to reach the waterfalls. It is a giant five-tiered waterfall, forming a pool at the base where you can take a dip. This decision is at the discretion of the trek leader. They will decide what is safe for the group.

We will spend some time here before returning. Midway, we will have lunch at 1 pm, continue the journey, and reach the base by 1:30 pm.

We will start for Didupe Waterfalls, also known as Kadamangudi Falls or Anadka Waterfalls. It is another untouched beauty hiding in the Charmadi Ghat of Dakshina Kannada. The beauty of the waterfalls is because of the water plunging from a 70-foot-high cliff. The terrain is rocky, and dense forest give it a lively feel. The one-way trek distance of Didupe Waterfalls is 3 km. Didupe Falls is absolutely stunning with the magnificent height it falls from. Play around in the water until your heart is content. Again, the pond here is shallow enough to walk around, so you don’t have to worry about swimming.

We will reach the Didupe waterfalls by 2.45 pm, spend time here and return to the base by 4 pm.

You won't feel tired after two hikes since these are categorised as easy, and you mostly walk on a well-laid path. Apart from that, the cleanliness and nature hold your breath stable. Reminiscing about the memorable day, we will reach Surya Temple in Dharmasthala from the base and arrive by 5 pm.

From the temple, we will reach our homestay by 6 pm. A warm welcome awaits you at the homestay. Chai and coffee will then be served to give this marvellous experience a sweet end.

Dinner will be served at 8.30 pm. Come, gather up and discuss life.

The trek to Bolle Falls is easy. We will reach there in about an hour. The total Bolle Falls trek distance is 5 km.

We will trek back, reach the pond area by 12.30 p.m. and finish lunch. After eating, we will start our journey back to Kottigehara and, from there.

We will reach Bangalore by 6 am in the morning.

The trails are rewarding enough with blue skies that seem to walk alongside you, and the ecosphere around is one you’ll probably find in a calendar back at home. So cherish these moments while you are here. Cheers to these laid-back yet thrilling 2-day 3-Nights Offbeat Waterfalls trip in Karnataka.

About Host

What’s life without adventure? Isn’t the real purpose of life to travel, to experience new places, and witness the sunrise from new mountaintops? This thought is what united Jatin and Tarun over a cup of chai, in spite of being from two unrelated backgrounds (CA and IT). They knew each other since the time Jatin was helping Tarun learn the ways of the wilderness through weekend treks and outings with another traveling group. Their love for traveling and trekking together motivated them to start something of their own. Thus was born “Plan The Unplanned”, where travel goals come true. Under the Companies Act, Plan The Unplanned is incorporated as Unplanned Journeys Private Limited They started their journey on unsteady ground, much like any other company, but they shared an infatuation for travel and adventure with their customers, which amplified their determination, and thus, Plan the Unplanned family keeps getting bigger every day! Just about any travel idea can come alive with Plan The Unplanned…treks, adventure activities like rock climbing, kayaking, rafting, backpacking trips across the country, cultural outings, photo walks; everything that fellow travelers need, to explore the great outdoors together. Well now that the wanderlust has kicked in and you can already see a vacation in your nearest future, here’s what we have to offer!
