The trip to Rajmachi is an exhilarating experience, with trails winding through dense forests and ancient pathways that tell tales of bygone eras. As the sun sets, watch in awe as the landscape transforms with the shimmering dance of fireflies—an unforgettable natural phenomenon.
About Fireflies
Fireflies or lightning bugs(Jugnu) make light within their bodies. This process is called bioluminescence. Fireflies light up to attract a mate. This breath-taking show put on by nature resembles a psychedelic combination of stars falling and fireworks exploding – It is an immersive experience you will never forget.
The fireflies do not always flash in unison. They may flash in waves across hillsides, and at other times will flash randomly. Synchrony occurs in short bursts that end with abrupt periods of darkness.

- 03:00 PM: Meet the team at Khopoli Station. Here, we transition from train to Jeep. Journey to the base village, immersed in anticipation (If the roads are bad due to rains then we leave the vehicles at highway and walk 8kms to the base village).
- 05:15 PM: Reach the base village
- 05:30 PM: As the sun begins its descent, we go for an exhilarating trek to Shrivardhan Fort.
- 06:30 PM: Conquer the summit, bask in the glorious sunset, and let the moment sink in.
- 07:00 PM: Commence the descent with a heart full of sunset hues.
- 08:00 PM: Back at base village, where dinner awaits under a canopy of stars
- 09:30 PM: Savor a delightful dinner and then lose yourself in a mesmerizing fireflies walk.

- 07:00 AM: Stroll to the nearby lake and temple, immersing in the tranquil morning vibes of Rajmachi.
- 08:00 AM: Relish a hearty breakfast back at the village, sharing tales of last night's luminescent encounters.
- 08:30 AM: Wave goodbye to the wilderness as we embark on our return journey to Khopoli.
- 10:00 AM: Arrival in Khopoli and catch the train back to Mumbai.

Trekking with wandering souls was a safe and good experience. The team leads were genuinely caring and made sure of everyone's safety despite having a large group.The trek was well designed and it also had an introduction session which served as an icebreaker and made the batch more friendly towards eachother. The crowd was decent and blending, you can meet and make new friends. It was my first time trekking with a group and I would join them soon 💪🏽👍🏽

- Jacket / Wind cheater as it could get cold in the night
- Personal care stuff, ORS, medicines which you require usually
- Haversack to put all the things in, please do not carry sling bags or jholas

Policy and Terms
- Cancellation charge of 15% would be deducted from the booking if cancelled 2 days before the event
- No refund would be granted if cancelled within 2 days of the event.
- No refund (Partial or otherwise) will be made if you voluntarily leave or drop out of a trip for any reason after the trip has begun. No refunds will be made for any accommodation, transportation, sightseeing, meals or services not utilized
Terms and Conditions
- Basic Washroom facility (Indian Toilets) available at the campsite, it is a camping activity and not a leisure trip so one needs to prepare themselves accordingly.
- Smoking and drinking alcohol is strictly prohibited
- Please avoid wearing Gold and other jewellery.
- A planned activity or programs may be cancelled or revised depending on the weather or any other unavoidable circumstances
- We require atleast 8 participants to conduct the event. In a unlikely case where we don’t get the requisite number of participants, you have an option for FULL Refund or shifting to any other event.
- Bioluminescence by Fireflies is a natural phenomenon. The trip dates have been planned as per the mating season of fireflies i.e pre-monsoon during which we witness this phenomenon. We may or may not get to witness it. Wandering Souls won’t be held responsible for low or no sightings.
