All About It
We have been observing excessive plastic, paper and other waste at Taljai. Being a forest land, we need to preserve it and keep it clean. Hence, Forengers will be conducting a cleanliness drive on Sunday,1st March 2020. Up until now we have collected 110 kg of glass liquor bottles which is shameful. We will also be clearing out an area for our next plantation drive
Who should attend?
If you are conscious about climate change and actually want to make an impact, you are all welcome. Age criteria is 16 - 25 years

Cleanliness drive : In cleanliness drive we collect the garbage around the Taljai hill. The garbage includes plastic, metal and glass waste only. No biological waste is picked up. The waste is properly segregated according to the type and disposed accordingly. Plantation planning : For this task will we clearing out area for the next plantaion drive. The clearing of area will include clearing of grass and weeds from area so that the saplings planted later will get complete nutrition from the soil.

Forengers emerged out of a simple idea to plant one sapling per week. With this philosophy, we hosted an event on social media to invite anyone who was interested and saw a good turnout. And it has grown ever since, now we host cleanliness drives along with plantation campaigns. Each sapling we plant is tagged, covered with a shed of bamboo and cloth, watered 4 times a week and tracked for growth. We ensure that every sapling survives the next monsoon season so that it can survive the later stages on its own. Moreover, the garbage we collect is disposed to composting facilities or recycling centers based on the nature of waste ensuring minimum impact. We want to shift the focus of masses from mere concern to action. A lot is being shared by people in classrooms, social media platforms, etc but we aim to provide our community a platform where they can actually make an impact.

Age limit - 16-25 Yrs. Wear comfortable and decent outfits. Forengers will not be responsible for any injury.
