Spiti ! Just imagine a land lost in time, a land so tranquil and soul steering that you can hear your own heartbeat, skies so clear that you can spot Milky Way with bare eyes, people so warm and hospitable that they tend touch your heart in the simplest of ways, a land of Surreal Landscapes, a land dipped in History, Spiti is truly a blend of everything and oh! So much more

The magnificent Spiti is sited on the India-Tibet border. It is a high-altitude, trans-Himalayan terrain which is a dry and cold desert, has snow-capped mountain peaks, ancient monasteries, coarse terrains, colored face-rocks, untouched emerald lakes, narrow passes and iced up glaciers. The valley originates from the 15,000 feet high Kunzum pass and is often referred to as ‘the middle land’ – meaning the land between India and Tibet or the land surrounded by mountain ranges on all the sides. Spiti River, originating from the east of the Kunzum Pass, flows through the center of Spiti Valley, giving its name to the valley and the district

Being so culturally, geographically and historically rich, Spiti beckons to all those looking for all those experiences that give Goosebumps! And Travelmite is excited to take you on a 6N/7D road trip covering this mystical journey.

Today is designated as a leisure day. We will be spending time traveling to some of the illustrious and quaint villages in close proximity. Awaken to enjoy these extraordinary moments of life. As we get on with our day, we will get onto a Zigzag uphill drive to the stunning countryside of Spiti

We will visit Langza, Komic and Hikkim. Langza – This lesser known high altitude village has a character of its own. Located at approx. 14,500 ft it is one of the remotest villages of India. Known for its distinctive houses, a massive Buddha statue guarding the haven and of course not forgetting the marine fossils, Langza is a must visit. Komic - situated at an elevation of 15,027 ft is known for being the world's highest motorable village, adding to the allure is the historic 14th century Lundup Tsemo Gompa Buddhist Monastery. Hikkim – sited at 14,400 ft isn’t just a high altitude village but not many know that it is famous for having the world's highest permanently structured post office

Post having visited these beautiful villages we then descend back to our home stay in Kaza. Overnight stay, post a tempting dinner.

Up uppity up! Get ready for yet another exploration day! Today we witness the ever so revered and the most iconic building of the Spiti region – The ‘Key Monastery’. Located at 13,668 ft it is a perfect treat to the tired mind and body, the way it’s nestled in a cascaded manner over the hills, it can be seen with a bird’s eye view. The monastery has some really beautiful scriptures and paintings of Lord Buddha and other gods. Don't forget to spend time amongst the peacefully living monks, if lucky you might just get words of wisdom that will stay with you forever

After Key monastery we will then be visiting Kibber – the landscape immediately captivates you; enclosed by limestone rock mountains, it is home to the magnificent and rather extremely shy snow leopards. Talking about the architecture, Spiti villages mostly have whitewashed houses with red windows and blue doors. However, at Kibber, the houses are distinctive in one attribute. They are made of stone, instead of mud

Next in the itinerary comes the much awaited ‘Chicham Bridge’, which is ASIA'S HIGHEST SUSPENSION BRIDGE

The day, sadly, comes to an end. We head back to the home stay in Kaza to retire for the night post a hearty dinner.
