Day's Journey:
Rise with the sun and get ready for an exciting day ahead! We depart from Pandukeshwar to Govindghat, where you'll take a local transfer to Pulna (3 km), the starting point of our trek. Today, we embark on our journey to Ghangaria.
As we ascend, the gentle flow of the Lakshman Ganga river accompanies us, providing a soothing backdrop to our climb. The trek can be challenging, but the sense of accomplishment when we reach Ghangaria is unparalleled.
Ghangaria: A Hidden Gem
Ghangaria, situated at an altitude of 9,600 ft, is a quaint one-street village that offers a unique experience. Explore the village, visit the Gurudwara, and enjoy the local cuisine. Take in the breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains and valleys.

As we enter the valley, we're greeted by a picturesque gate, where we purchase our entry tickets. A short walk leads us to a scenic bridge, suspended above a gushing stream. The trail then winds through a coniferous forest, descending to the bridge and climbing up a rocky path.
A Botanist's Paradise
As we emerge from the forest, the valley unfolds its breathtaking beauty. Meadows of vibrant flowers stretch as far as the eye can see, creating a surreal landscape. Himalayan Balsam dominates the valley, with its thick coverlet of flowers.

Today's adventure takes us to the revered Sikh Shrine of Hemkund Sahib, nestled in the lap of seven snow-capped mountains. We begin our steep ascent early, fueled by a hearty breakfast.

As we reach Hemkund Sahib, we're enveloped by an atmosphere of serenity and tranquility. The stunning lake, surrounded by wildflowers, including the rare Brahma Kamal, is a sight to behold. The lake's frozen surface for six months of the year adds to its mystique.

Indulge in the heavenly hot tea served at the Gurudwara, and visit the nearby Laxman Mandir. Allow yourself to be rejuvenated by the peaceful ambiance of this sacred site.
Descending to Ghangaria

Downhill Trek and Departure
Today, we bid farewell to the breathtaking Valley of Flowers and Hemkund Sahib, and begin our downhill trek to Pulna and then to Pandukeshwar. The descent is a relatively easy and scenic walk, allowing us to reflect on the unforgettable experiences of the past few days.

After reaching Govindghat, we take a short break to rest and recharge. We then drive to Pandukeshwar, where we check into our hotel and retire for the day, carrying memories of our incredible journey.

By Air: From Indira Gandhi Delhi International airport, flights operate to Jolly Grant commercial airport in Dehradun at frequent intervals. From the airport, you can hire a cab to reach Rishikesh covering a distance of 43 km. Your trekking experience to the valley starts from here.

Located at an altitude of 14,400 feet and with 47 kilometers to be covered, this trekking to the Valley of Flowers at Uttarakhand needs body fitness and pre climbing preparations. The main aim is to store enough stamina to complete the trek. It is thus advised to start preparing for a month ahead.
- Doing “leg presses” to strengthen your leg muscles is a good idea.
- Practicing a few breathing exercises is beneficial too.
- You can also follow this 4-week walking regimen so that you do not get tired easily during the long climb.
