This International Women's Day, we at @TravelTroovel and For Old Times' Sake have taken upon ourselves to answer the nearly un-answerable, timeless question; What Women Want?? Our best bet would be, To be Spoilt With Choices :D Which is why, we've curated a day-long experience with an interesting mix of sessions for you to make new friends, relax, indulge in creativity and celebrate Womanhood! a. Magical Watercolor Mandalas An experience aimed at de-cluttering your minds! You will learn 1) Basics of Mandala Drawing 2) Incorporation of different patterns in your mandala 3) And take back a framed-art piece b. Lippan Kaam- the traditional art of Kutch, Gujarat We say that getting dirty with clay is one of the best modes of relaxation and rejuvenation. their senses! You will learn 1. To indulge in this forgiving medium 2. Create your own earthy murals with the gleam of mirrors. c. Block Printing on Tote Bags In the wake of sustainable living, when all of us prefer to carry cloth-bags whenever we step out; why not jazz them up a bit?! You will learn 1. Insights to the whole process right from drying cloths, taking out it's starch & design selection 2. About single blocks and multiple blocks printing 3. Insights to dyes, color and after-painting maintenance of cloth. d. The Women-Health Hour This is where we get together and discuss about our health and issues that are secretly swept under the carpet otherwise. Our guest speakers from Naaryastu would be speaking on the subject of Poly Cystic Ovarian Disorder (PCOD) Join us to celebrate the day with us. All the material for the sessions would be provided. “I wish I could do that”, “I really wanted to do that but then I didn’t have time”, “Oh damn! That is so good, glad you could take out time to do that”, “I know I am good at it but I don’t have time to do this”, “I wish someone would have encouraged me back then”. Do these phrases sound familiar? You must have used these at some point of time or the other. Well, our major encounter with these phrases happened in April 2016 in a very random and casual dinner table conversation. The use of these phrases that night led us into a discussion about the fact that how one is not able to pursue their interests or hobbies these days due to busy work life, family responsibilities and the entry of many gadgets into our life. At this point, we felt that something needs to be done for ourselves and the people around in order to reconnect them with their interests and hobbies or help them find some hidden talent within themselves that they may want to pursue in their lives ahead. The next step at that point for us was to find a way to do so. We racked our brains further and after a while it struck to us that other than spending time on their hobbies, travel is something that almost everyone loves to do. However, occupied one is, they do manage to take out some time for travel. This is when we decided that we will use travel as a medium to reconnect people with their interests. This is how the concept of TravelTroovel developed and thereafter we started taking baby steps towards its further planning and execution. It was on the 20th August, that we officially launched it.
