DUDHWA & PILIBHIT
Located along the Indo–Nepal border, the Dudhwa Tiger Reserve spans over 1,230 sq km and comprises Dudhwa National Park along with the Kishanpur and Katarniaghat Wildlife Sanctuaries. Pilibhit Tiger Reserve, a recent addition, was notified under Project Tiger in June 2014.
Set in the fertile Indo-Gangetic plains, these forests are among the richest ecosystems in north India, supporting exceptional floral and faunal diversity. The varied landscapes are home to a healthy population of tigers and leopards, along with sambar, chital, hog deer, swamp deer, sloth bears and Asian elephants. Dudhwa is also one of the few places in India where the endangered one-horned rhinoceros can be found.
Join The Western Routes as we explore the last remaining wilderness of the Terai — a region where dense forests, grasslands and rivers come together to create a truly unforgettable wildlife experience.
