Pandals to Cover: 1. Keshavji Naik Chawl The first Ganesh pandal to have been set up in Mumbai in the year 1893. The same pandal was later graced by the presence of the man himself - Lokmanya Bal Gangadhar Tilak in the year 1901 when he chose this place to render an enthralling speech thereby making this the only pandal in the pages of history that can boast of an event of such significance. 2. Khetwadi cha Ganraj Located in the busiest lanes of Khetwadi in South Mumbai, Khetwadi Ganraj Raja pulls in a lot of crowds. The tallest Ganesh idol is well known for its novel themes every year. Golden jubilee celebration is underway in Khambata Lane in Girgaum that houses the 24ft tall Khetwadi Cha Raja. 3. Girgaon Cha Raja Girgaoncha Raja Ganpati was established in 1938. The eco-friendly idol made of Shadu clay with nearly 25 ft height is the unique feature of Girgaoncha Raja Ganpati 4. Fortcha Raja, CSTM This socially conscious Mandal turns 58 this year with an evocative theme on the sorry condition of farmers in the state. The son of the soil is shown seeking blessings of its 22 ft tall Ganesh while the picture of a woman bearing a pot of water is framed on the backdrop. 5. Chinchpoklicha Chintamani This year is very special as it is their 99th year! The celebrations are in full swing. Every year when the Ganesh idol comes into the pandal for the first time, there is a whole different level of energy. People from everywhere come to the streets to take a look at the murti, they dance to the beats and it is one of the best feelings. So many people rejoice the welcome of their beloved Bappa.
