Join The Western Routes to celebrate the rural tradition of Hurda Party at the beautiful Anjanvel Agri Farm at Shilim village. Apart from the hurda party and the delicious gavran jevan, we will spend the whole day at the farm. Go on a hike, enjoy an afternoon siesta on a khaat, try your hand at pottery, go on a bullock cart ride or just roam around the sprawling 12-acre property

In the winter months of December, January and February, farmers across Maharashtra and Gujarat celebrate the harvest of hurda (green jowar or sorghum). Ripe jowar is harvested, roasted directly on fire and then enjoyed with a range of accompaniments like dahi, lasoon chutney, thecha, tilgul and many others. This is called a Hurda Party. Once this tradition was a family affair, but now farmers graciously host these hurda 'parties' in their farms and invite tourists to join the festivities.
