All About It

Land of panoramic landscapes and northern lights
Iceland, situated in the North-Atlantic ocean, close by the Arctic Circle, is much like a bridge between continents. Iceland’s cool, temperate maritime climate is due to the influence of the Gulf Stream; summers here are refreshing and winters have surprisingly mild temperatures. Isolation and extreme forces of nature have been instrumental in shaping Icelandic culture. People here are resilient - their family ties, close, their sense of tradition, strong and their bond with nature, tight.Come, let’s explore this unique little island!

KirkjufelMountain and Snaefellsnes Peninsula
If you see the Kirkjufelmountain from the right angle, it resembles a nature-made pyramid. Interestingly, with every visit it always seems to offer something new. Also, this mountain happens to be one of the iconic locations where Game of Thrones was filmed
Snaefellsnes peninsula is nothing short of a wonderland, especially in winters! It stretches as a vast mountain ridge, containing active volcanoes. What’s more, the mountains themselves are astoundingly diverse

Keridand Geyse
Keridis one of the picturesque crater lakes situated in Iceland’s Western Volcanic Zone. Believed to be a 3000-year old crater lake, it is still, interestingly, nowhere close to the surrounding volcanic features, which are nearly double the age
Our next destination is the famous spouting hot spring Geysir in Haukadalur valley - which lends its name to geysers all over the world. Its surrounding geothermal area is also widely known simply as the “Geysir” geothermal area. WhileGeysir seldom erupts anymore, its neighbor Strokkurstill erupts with gusto, spouting water up to 15-20 meters

We move to the charming town of Vik and visit the famous plane crash site
In the year 1973 a United States Navy DC plane ran out of fuel and crashed on the black beach at Sólheimasandur, located in the South Coast of Iceland. Fortunately, everyone on that plane survived. The remains of this plane can still be found on the sand very close to the sea – the white colour of the remains is in sharp contrast with the black sand below

We will be further exploring the south shore of Iceland
One of Iceland’s highest and most beautiful waterfalls, Skogafoss can be shot from the top, thanks to a pathway leading there and further on to some other amazing falls. When the light is right, Skogafoss is also known to produce a stunning double rainbow
The black sand beach at Reynisfjara is the southernmost point of Iceland. The Reynisdrangar sea stacks, the black sands at the sea shore, the waves of the North Atlantic Ocean, the basalt column pyramid of Gardar and the rich birdlife together make this one of the most photogenic sites that you will encounter on the entire journey

Diamond Beach and Jokulsarlo
Jokulsarlon glacier lagoon isa large glacial lake, situated on the edge of Vatnajökull National Park. There will be great deal of opportunities to photograph the gigantic icebergs on the lagoon as well as the chunks of ice that break away, drifting towards the ice beach. The icebergs reflecting on the water present a wonderful opportunity for some amazing winter photography. And if we are lucky, a brilliant display of the Northern Lights will make it truly picture perfect!A photographer’s haven, the scenes from this famous ice beach includea beautiful interplay of light, dark sands, glistening ice and movements of the waves, which make every shot magical and magnificent

Thank you very much Paresh & Ameya. We really enjoyed our first jungle safari. They really managed each and everything right from picking up from Nagpur
airport. We really enjoyed the hospitality and the experience they have. I wish Footloose Journeys all the very best and looking forward to many more jungle

We had an amazing time with Paresh and his team! I was in a group of ten law students and two professors and the Footloose team tailored the trip to our interests (environmental law, policy, and endangered species protection and conservation).
We met with a top tiger conservationist and learned about efforts to protect tiger habitat in central India. We stayed in a stunning resort for two days just outside Kahna National Park and took several beautiful rides through the park and saw some incredible wildlife. Footloose also arranged for us to meet with some of the people who were displaced when the park was formed so we could learn about their way of life and how they work to protect the forest.
I definitely recommend planning a trip with Footloose Journeys. They are very responsive and easy to work with.

It was my very first experience into the raw jungle and my decision to explore Tadoba with Footloose Journeys was truly beautiful! The entire trip was very well organised and wasn't disappointed at any point of time. The crew (Paresh, our guides, drivers) were very interactive and kept enlightening us about the stories of
the jungle. Awaiting for the next journey :) 🐾
