All About It
One of the largest twin-hill stations in Maharashtra, spread over 150 sq km, Mahabaleshwar - Panchgani are located on the Western Ghats at the height ranging from 1200-1500 mtrs (Tallest peak in Maharashtra is Kalsubai which is liitle over 1600 mtrs). It was the summer capital of the Governor of the erstwhile Bombay Presidency during the colonial era. The hill resort is located at a distance of 120 km from Pune and 285 km from Mumbai. With its scenic extravaganza and assuaging climate, Mahabaleshwar is a popular place of recluse for the tourists during the summers. At a height of 1438 m above sea level at its highest lookout point (Sunrise Point), it experiences the flow of nature lovers, holidaymakers, adventurous lovers and even filmmakers (Remember the song sequences in early 90s or films like Gangajal, Omkara, Tare Jamin Par were shot in Wai-Panchgani-Mahabaleshwar area). The various vantage points and observation towers scattered throughout the place offers some enthralling views of the lush vegetation around and the Koyna and Krishna valleys below. They also offer equally captivating sights of the various waterfalls.

Day 1 • 6:30 am - Report in Koregaon Park • 8:30 am - Breakfast • 9:30 am - Visit Parsi point & Mapro Garden • 12:30 pm - Kate point and needle hole point • 1:00 pm- Lunch • 3:00 pm rest time @ Villa • 5:00 pm visit Venna lake will have enjoy paddle boating at the lake , visit Lodwick point watch the sunset • 8.30 pm - Return back to villa • 9.00 pm - Dinner & Pool party Day 2 • 7 am : visit Wilson point (sunrise) optional • 9.30 am : Breakfast • 12 noon : check out time • 12.30 : Laudwick and elephant head point • 2 pm: Lunch • 3 pm: Return journey to Pune via same route and will reach Pune by 11 pm. (We may come to Pune one hour before or after the scheduled time.)

It was my first ever trip and camping.... And people at Pune Travel Club made it really special for me. Considering the heavy rush for New Years I understand a few things might go here and there but overall I just loved it. Camping at Kashid... Beachside Campfire... Next day Beautiful scenary at the beach and water sports.... It was a special start of the New Year for me. Thanks a lot Pune Travel Club team.

It was my first ever trekking experience and PTC made it worthwhile. Enjoyed a lot....Went with a very nice group from Pune to Bhandardara Fireflies festival..... Shraddha our co-ordinator was very humble, soft spoken and an outstanding person who guided us throughout the trekking....I would definitely love to attend more events.....
