Join The Western Routes on a food and heritage exploration tour of Indore and its surroundings. Along with this incredible city, we will explore the historical towns of Mandu and Maheshwar and visit the Mahakaleshwar Temple in Indore!
This is a comfortable 3N-4D itinerary based in Indore. Throughout the 4 days, we will explore the unique food culture of the town. We will experience the Maratha history at the Ahilya Fort along with the beautifully crafted sarees in Maheshwar and explore the architectural genius of Mandu.

- 6:00 AM - 8:00 AM - Arrivals in Indore from Pune/Mumbai. Breakfast followed by check-in to the hotel
- 11:00 AM - Indore local sightseeing. Rajwada, Lal Baug Mahal, Kaanch Mandir. We will also experience the street food at Chhappan Dukan.

Friday, 28 February 2025
- Today we will explore the beautiful and historic town of Maheshwar. This place is famous for the Ahilya Fort situated by the Narmada River.
- After lunch in Maheshwar, we will visit weavers to see the exquisite Maheshwari sarees being made. We will also go on a boat ride in the Narmada River and experience the sunset from the boat.
- Once back in Indore, we will explore the Sarafa Night Market to experience its unique food specialities. The sheer variety is baffling.
- Overnight stay in Indore

Friday, 1 March 2025
- Post breakfast, we will head to Mandu. Mandu is an ancient fort surrounded by stone walls dotted with darwazas (gateways). It's also known for its Afghan architectural heritage. We will have a guided tour of the different monuments here - Hoshang Shah’s Tomb, a domed marble mausoleum, and the vast Jami Masjid mosque, with courtyards framed by colonnades. Along with this, we will also visit the Jahaz Mahal palace which stands between 2 lakes. We will experience the light & sound show at Mandu.
- Back to Indore. Overnight stay in Indore
Day 4 - Mahakaleshwar Temple

- After an early breakfast, we will proceed to visit the Mahakaleshwar Temple in Ujjain. Following some local shopping and lunch, we get back to Indore. Lunch en-route.
- 8:00 PM onwards - Depart for home destinations.
