Join The Western Routes on a Heritage Walk of Old Pune every Sunday at 8 AM. 

NOTE - For the summer months of April, May and June we are changing the walk timing and meeting point.  

On the walk, explore the old city of Pune and its by-lanes on foot. Hear intriguing stories of the Marathas, the rise and fall of the Peshwas, walk through the historic bazaars, admire the different architectural styles of monuments, temples and houses, and learn about the traditional art & craft forms that have been part of the city's history.

We will visit the following locations

  • Kasba Ganpati Mandir
  • Nana Wada
  • Bhausaheb Rangari Bhavan
  • Dagdusheth Halwai Mandir
  • Mahatma Phule Mandai
  • Tulshibaug Mandir
  • ...along with many historical and interesting anecdotes about our beloved city.

Guided Walk Through the Old City

Snacks

  • 7:45 AM - Assemble at the Mandai Police Chowki 
  • 8:00 AM - After a brief round of introduction, start the tour. We will experience the bustle at Mahatma Phule Mandai, the vegetable and fruits market  and then venture into the old city on foot. We will visit the Tulshibaug Ram Mandir, pass through Dagdusheth Halwai Temple, Bhau Rangari Bhavan, Nana Wada, learn about Laal Mahal, Shivaji Maharaj's home in Pune, Kasba Ganpati Temple, and end the walk at Shaniwarwada. Along with these places, we will share interesting cultural and historical anecdotes about the city during our walk. Of course, we will break for chaha (tea) and traditional snacks en route.
  • 11:00 AM - The tour ends at Shaniwarwada.
