Trek to the eye of the needle !! Explore superb landscapes as you embark on a thrilling escapade with Ratangad Fort trek. The twisting paths make the trek challenging but a fun experience. About Ratangad Trek : Ratangad is a hill fort near Ratan Wadi. The fort is about 2000 years old. Ratangad has a natural rock peak with a cavity in it at the top which is called Nedhe or Eye of the Needle. Ratangad was captured by Chhatrapati Shivaji Raje Bhosle and was one of his favorites. The base village Ratanwadi has an Amruteshwar temple which is famous for its carvings. The fort is the origin of the river Pravara/Amrutvahini. The Bhandardara dam is built on this river.

Day 0: Leave Pune by 11 pm in private Non AC bus towards Ratanwadi and reach the base village by 5 am. Day 1: Post Breakfast and a small introduction session we will start ascending by 6 am after visiting Amruteshwar Temple. We will be reaching the fort entrance around 9:30 am. We will explore the fort and caves for the next two hours and will start the descent by 11:30 am. Post lunch in Ratanwadi/Samrad, we will leave to Pune by 5 pm. We will reach Pune by 11 pm. Tour Concludes with Happy Memories :)

It was my first ever trip and camping.... And people at Pune Travel Club made it really special for me. Considering the heavy rush for New Years I understand a few things might go here and there but overall I just loved it. Camping at Kashid... Beachside Campfire... Next day Beautiful scenary at the beach and water sports.... It was a special start of the New Year for me. Thanks a lot Pune Travel Club team.

It was my first ever trekking experience and PTC made it worthwhile. Enjoyed a lot....Went with a very nice group from Pune to Bhandardara Fireflies festival..... Shraddha our co-ordinator was very humble, soft spoken and an outstanding person who guided us throughout the trekking....I would definitely love to attend more events.....
