10:00 pm: Call it a night!

From Manmad we take various modes of transportation to reach Samrad village, our treks start point. The mouth of the valley is a 10 minutes walk from Samrad village. Sandhan valley is 15-20 feet wide gully ,which is carved by water flowing between the two huge mountains and hence this valley is inaccessible during Monsoon season. The actual trek starts from the valley entrance. The stretch of the valley is about 2 kms and the valley is surrounded by 80-90 feet tall mountains from both sides

In Sandhan Valley trek we have to cross 2 water ponds. The first pond has water upto 1 ft and second pond has water upto knee level. It takes around 1.5 to 2 hours to reach to the exit point of the valley. From this point we need to cross 3 rocks patches. The first one, appx 40 feet height has to be rappelled down. The second and third rock patch of height not more than 15 feet is a test to our scrambling skills. It takes us another 4 hours from the exit point to reach our camping spot.

We spend the night camping beside the stream.

"The Great Escape" upholds its name, literally! Among the couple of trekking organisations that I have hiked with in Himalayas, TGE is one of the best. They plan the trek very well, adapting the route and camping locations to factors like weather and the footfall. The support staff is experienced and deft, food great, and trekking practices "green". The organisers themselves are friendly and look after the group well. At the same time, they are firm, decisive, and in a mode of continuous improvement! It is a pleasure trekking with TGE, and I would highly recommend them! Good luck Reetu & Jamila...and keep rocking !

I have attended only one trip/event with TGE as of now and I loved it. It was well organized, the organizer was really cooperative and helped everyone in the team to make the trip a memorable one. I'd highly recommend this group to all friends and family and would love to attend their future events. Thank you.
