Situated at a height of 12,100 ft, Chandrashila trek is the most suitable option for beginners and is also famous for Tungnath temple which is one of the highest temples in the world. Chopta Tungnath trek is one of the few treks in the Himalayas that offers the greatest mountain views. You’ll be able to gaze at Gauri Parbat, Hathi Parbat, Dunagiri, Mt. Nanda Devi, Mt.Nanda Ghunti, and Mt. Trishul from the top
Apart from the views, Chandrashila Chopta trek gives you many other reasons to love this trek. The trail passing through oak and rhododendron trees is nothing short of spectacular. Deoriatal Lake is surrounded by forests with Mt Chaukhamba looming over it making it a breathtaking sight. Have breakfast and start your 2-hours journey in a car to Sari village
Trek for 2 km to reach Deoriatal Lake, with a view of Chaukhamba peak
Get down and start your journey back to Rishikesh.


The group will assemble at the pickup point at 09:00 PM. Afterward, You'll be introduced with the team captains and the whole group. We'll start for a overnight journey towards Chopta Via Rishikesh around 09:00 PM. We'll take a mid-way stoppage at Modinagar for Dinner.

The trek leaders have good experience and are very helpful during trek with all the necessary details that one need to know.
I would suggest to carry minimum luggage as possible as the trek is demanding with high endurance so keeping the luggage at minimum only essentials like water,

By Air: Jolly Grant Airport in Dehradun serves as the nearest airport to Rishikesh. Visitors can take a direct flight to Dehradun from Mumbai or Delhi or connecting flights from anywhere in India. Local vehicles can be availed from outside the airport to reach Rishikesh by road from Dehradun
By Train: Rishikesh Junction Railway Station is well-connected to all the surrounding major cities. Visitors can easily find frequent trains to Rishikesh from Delhi and Dehradun
By Road: Rishikesh is well connected by roads to all major cities and towns, so visitors as per their choice and comfort can take the bus to reach Rishikesh smoothly. Rishikesh is connected to Chandigarh, Delhi, Dehradun, and Nainital through a good network of roads.

    Our treks are planned with a male: female ratio. As an organizer, we make sure that their tents are shared only with other female trekkers.

    Good physical and mental fitness is expected to complete the Trek. Chandrashila Trek is an ideal option for beginners to get familiarized with similar high altitude treks.
  3. What kind of food will be provided during the trek?
    We make sure that wholesome and nutritious meals are provided during the Chandrashila Chopta trek. We serve only vegetarian food as it is easy to digest and preferable in high altitudes.
  4. How difficult is Chopta Tungnath Chandrashila trek?
    Chandrashila Trek is easy to moderate when we compare it to another high altitude trek. We advise our trekkers to maintain a basic fitness level before opting for this experience.
  5. What kind of stay options will be provided during the trek?
    On your Chopta to Tungnath trek, accommodation will be provided in camps or guest houses on a sharing basis.
  6. Will there be any snow during the trek?
    Snow is available on this trek during the months of January to March. You may also witness snowfall in the month of January.
  7. Will there be any mobile connectivity during Chopta Tungnath trek?
    Limited Airtel and Vodafone networks are available in Sari village. We advise our trekkers to be prepared for the network problem during the trek.
  8. What is the maximum altitude of the trek?
    The maximum Chandrashila trek height is 12,100 ft. The total Chandrashila trek distance covered by you in these 3 days is approx 21 km.
  9. What type of shoes are good for this trek?
    The best suited shoes for the Dayara Bugyal trek route are the ones that are breathable and light in weight. Also, ankle support is also a very important thing to take care of while buying the perfect pair of shoes. You can go for brands like- Decathlon, Wildcraft, Quechua, etc. In the winters, you’ll require gators or gumboots which you can rent from the base village.
  10. What kind of clothes must be carried during Chopta Tungnath Chandrashila trek?
    We advise our trekkers to bring proper woolen clothes and windcheaters during the months of Dec, Jan, and Feb. In other months, a few jackets along with a raincoat is sufficient.
