Witness the magic of baby turtles hatching and taking their first steps! Velas is a small village in Ratnagiri district which is famous for the Olive Ridley turtle population that visits the Velas beach every year and lays their eggs. At Velas, the turtle conservation movement is undertaken by the villagers. Witnessing a baby turtle coming out of the egg and then finding its way to the sea by those baby steps is an unforgettable moment.

• We will be reaching Velas eco-village by 6 am in the morning. After reaching, we will be moving towards the beach to see the hatchings. • If we are lucky we will see the hatching and then the baby turtles taking their first steps into the sea. • Post sightings we will be briefed by the experts about the turtles and their fight for survival. • Post the session, we will head back to the homestay to freshen up and have breakfast. • We will rest for a while and then leave to explore the village and the famous Bankot fort. Bankot gives a panoramic view of the Velas coast. • The rest of the day will be spent exploring, chilling, watching a great sunset and enjoying some lovely Konkan food.

• Wake up early and head to the beach to catch another round of sightings. • Head back to the homestay, have breakfast and leave for Harihareshwar. • Harihareshwar is a pilgrim town on the Konkan coast, known for its tranquility and picturesque beaches. • We will visit the temple and go around the pradakshina route along the seashore which has a very beautiful view. • Post visiting the temple, we will head back to Mumbai. Trip concludes with happy memories :)

It was my first ever trip and camping.... And people at Pune Travel Club made it really special for me. Considering the heavy rush for New Years I understand a few things might go here and there but overall I just loved it. Camping at Kashid... Beachside Campfire... Next day Beautiful scenary at the beach and water sports.... It was a special start of the New Year for me. Thanks a lot Pune Travel Club team.

It was my first ever trekking experience and PTC made it worthwhile. Enjoyed a lot....Went with a very nice group from Pune to Bhandardara Fireflies festival..... Shraddha our co-ordinator was very humble, soft spoken and an outstanding person who guided us throughout the trekking....I would definitely love to attend more events.....
