All About It

Rivers flow through valleys carrying the chants of monks and multi-coloured prayer flags flutter in the sky; from bridges and temple, Dzongs (fortress-like monasteries) dot the mountains and it's all beautiful and serene. Bhutan is a tiny kingdom nestled in the Himalayas, is one of the few countries that has tried to let in some aspects of the outside world while fiercely guarding its ancient traditions. Bhutan is also known to have the highest happiness quotient around the world. The Bhutanese name for Bhutan, Druk Yul, means "Land of the Thunder Dragon" and it only began to open up to outsiders in the 1970. Bhutan is a unique country, with fabulous and rugged scenery and, perhaps more significantly, a unique national identity which they are keen to maintain. Take this trip with Beyond Xpeditions to see the beautiful valleys, rivers and hills. We would be visiting Thimphu, Punakha, and of course Paro.
